18 Jan Teddy Coats for Layering in Winter
Teddy coats. Don’t you just love the sound of that? What can be more appealing that the sound of a childhood favorite cozy toy, as an oversized nubby coat? Teddy coats were all the rage a few years ago, I am wearing an oversized one in which I layer underneath.
Proportions and This Outfit
Here we are playing with proportions, and this oversized rust colored teddy coat is worn with cropped wide leg jeans.. My torso and legs are equally long, so the cropped jeans do not shorten the look of the legs in my case being 5 foot 9. If you are shorter or petite, The oversized coat with cropped wide leg jeans may shorten your legs. Try wearing a higher heel or a block heeled bootie for added height, if you do enjoy this look. This particular coat is by Pull & Bear, and I bought it on ASOS, last year. It is no longer in stock, but Nordstrom has a coat very similar from Blank NYC.
Another option, if you are shorter, would be to look for a shorter teddy coat. The eye then would be on the length of the cropped jeans. There are many cute options out there!
I do love that this is double breasted ( seems to be a theme with me lately!) and that it is a bit oversized I can layer a heavier sweater underneath or several lighter layers ( button down and sweater) without it looking too bulky.
I am sharing some of my favorite teddy coat picks at the bottom of the blog post.
Speaking of “teddy” and “Teddy bears” my sister and niece just adopted a chihuahua named Teddy, and it is adorable!
I also gave my 1.5 year old niece a Vermont teddy bear for Christmas along with several favorite teddy bear books, titled, “Corduroy” and “A Pocket for Corduroy”. Did you ever read this adorable story as a kid?
There are other colors I have shared and styles if you are looking for a fun coat like this to layer underneath.
I have worn this coat before in this post-Santa Brought Me a Teddy Coat
Weekend Happenings
I know friends, I have been a bit down on social media, it is the Covid fatigue. Hardly leaving your home for just grocery trips and walking after all this time has me weary. I am glad my mom can get the vaccine soon here in NC, so that is a positive step in the right direction. I’ve got to reach my doctor as I have a preexisting condition and may be able to get it sooner, I don’ know.
I have been doing various things to keep my mind busy and occupied in addition to the blog. I wrote a post on Friday about Things to Keep Yourself Mentally and Physically Active during this time. I hope you read and enjoy it!
Have you jumped on the Teddy coat bandwagon yet?

Posted at 17:09h, 21 JanuaryI bought a white, short teddy bear coat last year for $14 at Papaya. Had never been in there before or since!! But saw the coat in the window and had to have it. Love your spicy gingerbread colored coat. Now I want one in that shade. Great length, too. Oh, girl…your beautiful clothes and links are dangerous to my bank account. But I love it!!

Posted at 10:34h, 18 JanuaryI tried on a mustard teddy coat last year, but didn’t get it! Covid fatigue is a real thing. It was bearable while I was down with my knees, but now I just want to get *out* and there’s not much to do. I’m glad your mom is getting the vaccine soon and hope you are able to.
