28 Jan Texture Tantrum

Hello lovely Ladies

Today is about texture. I am wearing a tweed chanel-like jacket, velvet, textured tights and crinkled leather. Having many mixtures of textures can draw the eye in and create more interest.

Although I am not a parent ( only of fur babies) I know that kids can be pretty much familar each day, perhaps knowing what to expect, if they are introverted or extroverted, calm, the familiarity of our expectations do not always change on a day to day basis. However, ( at least when I was a kid) when there is a tantrum, there can be a sense of an outward changing behavior, something unexpected persay.

I would say the same can be said for our wardrobe choices from time to time. One often is familiar, as others are with their style, the colors they choose. the style, materials they like to wear

Then, at times, things change, I call this the “Texture Tantrum”. One of those times where one wants to go against the grain, perhaps be a bit unpredictable and incorporate many textures into their outfit, they may not otherwise do.

I do love texture and of course I incorporate it when I can, but this is an example of alot of textures and how they can work. The tweed of the jacket, the mesh metal of the bracelet, velvet, patterned tights, and wrinkled leather of my clutch. The bracelet from ChaosNY that I had featured was an inspiration for this outfit as well. You all know I love to wear patterned tights. So, think of the prior outfit ( the black wrap dress with just the patterned tights) the calm before the storm. :_) Try it sometime, I imagine most of you do!
