01 Aug The Grass is Greener

Today was one of those days. Hot Hot Hot. At times I feel like I might as well be living in Brazil, or Texas, or any other place with humidity that cuts through the air. Going out in the evening is one solution

Isn’t the grass always greener though? There are pros and cons no matter where one lives. My hubby and I have talked about renting a place in the mountains for a month during the summer next year. This is one solution for escaping some of the heat. Another to is go out in the evening, and this is what we did today. We went to one of our favorite places, where “everybody knows your name”, and you expect to hear a loud chorus of ” Jess” when you walk in the door. Bonefish Grill is a place that we love to hang out, enjoy great seafood, and have a few of their delicious watermelon martinis or other delectable drinks. I was “itching” to get out as over the past week, I noticed a red rash on my arm, then on my neck, then on my other arm. I found this quite odd, as I have not been hiking through the woods, or set up camp anywhere.

My husband has been taking our pups on a new part of a trail that has been added behind our house, and letting them off the leash. Unbeknownst  to me, my little fur boy, Gibby is curious enough to wander and veer of at whatever catches his attention. Not knowing he had left them off the leash, I thought to myself, ” How could I have poison ivy or poison oak”? Is there a plant growing in our bedroom I do not know about? As I have been mainly in the house, because of my condition for several weeks. Well,  apparently one can get poison ivy or oak just from coming in contact with the pet’s fur. So, we figured this is what happened? I gave them baths, I shower him with attention, and this is how my Gibby repays me? Oh well, it is small in the course of things, and going away.

So, it was just one of those days where I wanted to get out and enjoy the evening. It was still in the mid 90’s , so out came my green sundress.  It is funny, as for a red head, I actually could use a bit more emerald greeen in my wardrobe. But this was  just the dress to bring out. I paired it with a 1928’s necklace, some pretty green hoop earings, and my Sofft gladiator sandals. If the weather were cooler, I might have added a scarf and light jean jacket to add additional interest.
