14 Feb THT-The Color of the Year for Valentine’s Day
I mentioned yesterday, that I have been on the pink bandwagon lately. Vivid Magenta as the color of the year has me yearning for additional pieces for my wardrobe.
Vivid Magenta Tweed Jacket Styled for Valentine’s Day
In yesterday’s post, I shared one of my new tweed blazers, and I will keep just one. Today’s blazer is from Zara, and I do like how it nips in at the waist a bit more. Vibrant pink, and tweed, I had to pair it with this older Ann Taylor skirt that brightens these winter days, and has me longing for Spring.
My Look with This Tweed jacket
1980’s called and want their shoulder pads back! Shoulder pads here give it a strong look, as the shoulders are pronounced and the waist nipped Love the gold buttons and just the ease of how a great blazer can elevate a look. It is getting warmer here, but this is a great compromise, in the in between state as we edge toward the latter part of February.
Let’s say, you want to be more casual. A great pair of denim here, would look quite nice, especially in a lighter wash. Since the blazer is structured and has shape, the jeans could certainly be a wide leg or straight leg if you prefer.
I have a nice collection of blazers and always think they are a smart choice. You will see me step a bit out of the comfort zone next week, a bit.
Speaking of “comfort zone”, what will you do for Valetine’s Day? We went to Chicchettis, last weekend, as it is one of our favorite downtown wine bars and Italian small plates. So, we usually celebrate on an alternate day, or have a delicious meal with a choice bottle of wine. What are you up to?
My tweed blazer was yearning to accompany this pink floral print skirt. So, I couldn’t resist! I added a cream cami and some strappy heels to complete the look. One foot in Winter, the other in Spring. The green quilted Rebecca Minkoff bag plays off the floral leaves and stems of the skirt.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! Id love to hear how/if you celebrate it and what you wear. Let me know in the comments!

Posted at 18:46h, 19 FebruaryI think Marsha and/or Kellyann mentioned magenta in one of their recent posts. This is a color I have little or none of. Recently I wore a kind of deep pink cardigan that might pass for magenta but in looking at the pictures of me wearing it, I decided the cardi really wasn’t a flattering fit. So, I think I need to replace it!! Would love to see this blazer in another post paired with the light denim you mentioned. Maybe with a pretty cami underneath?
You look fabulous in this outfit. I hope your Valentine’s celebration on the 14th or slightly before or after was delightful.

Posted at 20:01h, 15 FebruaryI love this blazer – in fact I almost bought it on Saturday! It was either pink or bright green in a slightly longer length, but in the end I chose the green because it was a better fit. I’m a big fan of shoulder pads!

Posted at 10:27h, 15 FebruaryIf it gets warm to fast, I’ll have to wear my blazers with tanks under. I do want to wear them a few times before it gets summer hot!

Posted at 21:34h, 14 FebruaryPink tweed is the optimum choice for Valentine’s Day. What a lovely pairing it makes with your floral skirt. As retirees, my husband and I went out for a lovely lunch followed by a bit of a stroll through some shops.

Posted at 15:12h, 14 FebruaryInteresting blazer. I love the pop of colour and how it was styled. It would also go really well with a pair of jeans and leather loafers for a casual dressy look. The possibilities with outfits is endless. Check out my magazine site for style inspiration and so much more https://www.bauchlefashion.com/2023/02/inside-latest-heart-shaped-handbag-trend.html
