THT- The Gingham Dress Never Goes Out of Style

Gingham will always be a classic in the Summer. Sustainability, yes as it is something that remains in style.

Gingham

What is more quintessential summer than a gingham dress? Particularly with espadrilles!

I always felt “what goes around comes around”, and that does happen with fashion, but the gingham print has always been popular for Summertime.

I bought this pine green and cream gingham sundress a few years ago from Mango, and the button-down strappy number caught my eye straightaway.

Perhaps this tablecloth was an inspiration for my dress 🙂

I do have another gingham dress in a more traditional baby blue and white checked, so I think the color made it more interesting in my eye. I can’t help but think of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz when I wear it though!

I love to take a different belt that the dress comes with (those matching fabric belts aren’t my favorite) and elevate the dress. This natural belt defines the waist and gives it a summery vibe as well.

Espadrilles and a rattan bag also give it that Summertime feel.

There are so many styles of gingham dresses out there, you just need to find the one that will work for you.

When originally imported into Europe in the 17th century, gingham was a striped fabric, though now it is distinguished by its checkered pattern. From the mid-18th century, when it was being produced in the mills of Manchester, England, it started to be woven into checked or plaid patterns (often blue and white). Checked gingham became more common over time, though striped gingham was still available in the late Victorian period”  Wikipedia Source
