THT- Ways to Pattern Mix in Spring- Gingham and Camo

I am sharing how I am pattern mixing for Spring with today’s Spring outfit.

Im sharing this pattern mixed look on the blog today as I paired a small gingham print with a slightly larger print camo. The warm yellow and green (olive) are wonderful shade to mix. In addition to color, the camo print is considered a neutral, and will work with any color. Pink and green are a combination that is trending right now, and really one of my favorite color combinations, so another mix here would be a pink floral or gingham with the camo skirt. See how I styled this camo skirt with a floral in THIS POST.

Prints that you will see in Spring That Are Great for Mixing

  • Florals- Its Spring, so florals are everywhere! Try some of the ditsy floral prints (small) with the same scale gingham or a larger print gingham with a larger scale floral.
  • Gingham- Nothing says a classic print like Gingham- tops, dresses, blazers, trousers-
  • Stripes- Another classic print. A fun way to pattern mix and one of the most popular to get started is stripes and florals, give it a try!
  • Geometric prints. – If mixing geometric prints- try mixing those with a similar scale.

Outfit

I’ve primarily been shopping on Mango Outlet and Poshmark this year, as well as shopping my closet. These two pieces are a few years old, but not mixed in combination on the blog until today. My bag is a constant throughout the Spring and Summer and was purchased on Zara a few years ago. This one is similar and looks great as a warm weather neutral bag. I just bought these Dolce Vita sandals and wanted a pair with a lower heel. This pair has a 2 inch block heel which makes them comfortable to walk in. I had been looking for the quilted sandal for awhile and these are going to be worn frequently. This Ecru color is sold out but is offered in black, rose gold and silver. These sandals, by Steve Madden are similar and around $55. These Bandolino sandals are very close to mine with a 2.25″ heel

What’s Goin On

Well, this weekend was eventful. My brother and sis in law flew to Charlotte and we helped them move. My sister, niece, nephew, hubby and I all helped with the move. We were laughing at there were 3 PODS in the driveway, and I truly, expected that my mom would jump out of one of the PODS, like a birthday cake surprise! LOL.  I said to my brother, as if we were in a game show, ” Will it be Pod #1, Pod #2, or Pod #3?”

Needless to say, mom was not in a pod,(  but she will be visiting us early summer). Of course, 3 of the siblings are down here.

Sunday was an amazing brunch at On The Nines, and there were quite a few people golfing at this country club.

I have a new guitar student, as I am starting to teach back up again. My website is Lessons By the Lake, as we are close to the Lake Norman area. Gone are the days when you put up a flyer at coffee shops, now you have to create a web page.

Have a great day!

Oh my gosh, according to my allergies, it’s definitely spring! I love your shoes—I have a similar pair with a much higher heel, and yours seem way more manageable!

Love your sweet gingham check blouse, and the pattern mixed outfit! I have wanted a pair of braided sandals, but so far have been foiled as all the ones I have tried on are too wide you my narrow feet. Will keep searching…It’s wonderful that your family as moving close by and you are teaching guitar again! Thanks for sharing and linking up!

I am sure everyone is so excited about that upcoming reunion. And congratulations on your new student. My son would love you! He’s been into music and it seems guitar is what he is leaning towards. Happy Tuesday!

Good luck resumingyour lessons! You’ve chosen well contrasting colorways, the difference with light and deep really works together.
