Tips for Wearing Florals in the Winter

Hello Ladies

You know I have earned the nickname, ” The floral Queen”. I suppose there is something about florals that have me all giddy!  I get giddy when f all approaches and I know I can get my pumpkin spice beans at my local fresh market. This is a different level of “Giddiness”. Normally I save them more for spring, as often we think of wearing florals then, however, there are ways to wear floral in  the winter. The great thing is when I buy a dress, I do look at it and think about how many ways it can be styled. Can I wear it year round? Often times, the change of accessories, handbag, adding a blazer or shawl, a soft cardigan or fur can change the spring time look to winter.

I love fall winter fabrics, tweed, cashmere, faux fur, boiled wool, the list goes on. Lately I have been looking at my wardrobe for a mere bud, a flower... Ok, I felt the need to bring out a floral pattern. With my fondness for vintage or vintage inspired looks or accessories, I wanted to share this look with you today.

How many of you wear florals in the winter? Some things to remember:

  • Tips : Try wearing a 3/4 length dress or long sleeve floral when it gets chilly. If not, a sleeveless with a button down top will look great as well. There are some pretty adorned collared tops, or jeweled collar tops that would make the button down a touch more fashionable!
  • Add a blanket scarf with a pattern mix . Blanket scarves are trendy, but also warm, and the mix of patterns adds interest to the look. ( I hope to be doing more pattern mixing in the future.
  • Add a fun or vintage detail like a have here, a vintage stole or faux fur caplet. Faux fur is also quite trendy now, try a vest or jacket with your floral dress.
  • Add patterned tights or some fun boots with your floral dress to take it to winter.

Your dress looks beautiful. I think a flower print is great in colder months as it brings a little bit of spring 🙂

Oh Jess how I adore, nay covet, these boots. Such a great neutral colour yet fabulous style – they’re absolute winners in my book. Of course the floral dress is lovely, but all the more lovely for pairing thus. Bravo x
