30 Jun Turning Heads Linkup- Casual in Red, White and Blue and Mom too!

Good morning friends

How is everyone?

I am in a casual red, white and blue outfit today for the 4th.  If you missed yesterday, I shared a post in another casual outfit. 

My Outfit and Happenings

I am showing my patriotism with my 4th of July outfits this week. Friday, I shared some of my past outfits, all dresses, so I wanted to put together a few casual shorts/jean looks for that Holiday at home. If you missed yesterday’s outfit, click HERE.

Mom was shopping on-line and needed another purchase for free shipping, so she treated me to this red tee for the Holiday. If I wear a tee, I like for it to have a special detail–ie, eyelet, frilly sleeves and in this case, rusching on the side with a tie that enables you to choose how much rusching you want. I thought this was a cute detail! The red is no longer in stock, but there are a ton of other colors.

My LOFT denim shorts are a staple in the summer and I chose these medium wash pair to style. Red earrings, shoes and my white straw bag added to the patriotic fashion. If I hadn’t have added the red, I could have always relied on my red hair! All 3 of us, hubby, mom and I got our hair cut and cut/colored on our deck outside as we all wore masks. My friend and stylist came to the rescue! My mom hadn’t had her hair cut in 16 weeks!

We are careful about the places we go, mainly it has been vineyards on the weekend. We went to a restaurant near Lake Norman, and sat outside, wearing masks as the Gov ordered. Can’t eat with a mask though, and the crabcake salad was so good! Anyone else could eat seafood nearly every day of the week? I had a refreshing glass of Sauvingon Blanc as well ,and we took a walk around the marina. We are going to fruit stands and just getting mom out a bit, otherwise our outdoor deck is our refuge.

We are planning do to a cookout. I don’t eat red meat, but I love fish. I mentioned yesterday, I will have a salmon feta burger, make my “famous” strawberry, spinach and goat cheese salad, corn on the cob. Mom and hubby will do the burgers on the grill. And of course.. Sangria!

Believe me, I hope to do some more “on location” shoots and have some more interesting backgrounds, but I have been very busy here trying to help my mom with medical appt, cleaning, and just the day to day. She is seriously thinking of moving to NC, where we are, and I would be thrilled.

Just a thought…. Do you think Bill Murray is thinking, “I’m living my movie?”

Mom got in on the “action” wearing a Patriotic Micky Mouse t-shirt and espadrille sneakers. So glad she’s here!

We will be watching Hamilton on July 3rd , streaming! I have not seen the musical, but my mom loved it!
