03 Jan Happy 2022! Combat Boots Are Still Going Strong
Happy 2022 friends!
I took a much-needed respite after much driving Northeast for the Holidays. I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday.
We had a lovely time and of course, we took the pups as my in-law’s love seeing them.
In the New Year I am wearing a few new items, and I will be talking about my personal goals, including blog goals for 2022 later in the week. For now, let’s talk about these fabulous chocolate brown leather combat boots Santa brought.
The Outfit
Bye Bye to 2021! Moving into 2022 gives us a “refresh” and a hope for better things to come.
Something about the combat has me loving them enough that I have 3 pair. (1 gifted) You have seen me style the black combats gifted by Ceclia NY in THIS POST.
don’t often get sucked into advertisements, but I saw these from Thursday boot company, a New York company and just loved the style. (This is not a sponsored post).
The rugged brown leather is even softer when you put them on, and there was no break in period for me. The chunky sole is very comfortable on and gives support. I also love that unlike Fry combats or Doc Martins, you don’t have to lace them to get them on and off. There is a side zip! I like that they are “chunky enough” without being too bulky.
The combat boots give a feminine look a bit of an edge, a bit of the unexpected.
Are we passed the fact that we think we are too “old” for anything? I always believed in wearing what makes us happy no matter the age.
My mom was interested in some Doc Martins, and she is 78.
Combat boots will continue to be a popular boot style in Fall-Winter 2022. So, if you love ’em, wear ’em!
I do love my heels, but also like to change it up in the shoe department as well. I can walk all day in these.
It was time for me to wear more of my denim, even though we have had a few days here at 70 degrees! I styled my skinny jeans, as I still love the look of skinny jeans with boots. It really showcases the look. So, my advice, don’t throw out those skinny jeans!
Bye Bye 2021
I always reflect on the year, and what I could be doing differently in the next year. 2021 was a tough year, beginning with the Capitol Riot. Vaccines were being offered but Covid was still rampant. Different parts of the world were on lockdown. I can’t say all of this hasn’t been mentally challenging, but I do try and find positives that push me through. There are days though, where it can be overwhelming!
The New Year always brings a sort of “clean slate” in what we want as a community, as well as individuals. It is a chance to start anew and create a better outcome. I will be reflecting on my goals and what I hope to accomplish in 2022, and then I’ll share it with you. I look forward to hearing what you want out of the year as well.
On a positive note, my brother and sis in law close on their house Jan 10. They will be 10 minutes away!
I wish you the best in the New Year!

Posted at 10:36h, 14 JanuaryNo one can make combat boots look classier than you!! I have an inexpensive pair and they don’t look as nice as yours. Guess you get what you pay for?? Love the simple accessories, the beautiful blazer. Bring on 2022. We have the combat boots to battle anything it throws our way. Happy new year, love.

Posted at 15:41h, 03 JanuaryOoo these are stunning combat boots! I am a fan! The color of this is stunning and I bet it will go so well with many staple wardrobe items. Congratulations to your brother and sis in law! That’s a huge accomplishment and how fun that they’ll be so close. My brother lives 10 minutes away from me and it’s great. It would be better if he wasn’t such a hermit but hey, small wins right?! Happy New Year Jess!
