Turning Heads Linkup- Mixing Prints With a Neutral Pattern -Caite and Kyla

Caite and Kyla embroidered blouse, camo skirt and burgundy moto

This is a second post on mixing prints for Fall. I am sharing a neutral print today ( camo) that mixes nicely with any print in your wardrobe.

Mixing Patterns- Camo

Mixing prints part Deux! Mixing prints doesn’t have to be scary when one of the prints is a neutral.

I couldn’t resist the gorgeous Fall colors in the Amber Blouse. The embroidered leaves in pumpkin, mustard, and burgundy mix beautifully together. The detail on this gifted polysilk blouse from Caite and Kyla, is replicated again on the sleeve. Of course, I love the subtle snakeskin print and new exactly what I was pairing this with .

Camo print is one of those neutral prints that will go with everything. Want to mix it with stripes? Florals?

Look at camo as a neutral as you would leopard print. Cheetah, snakeskin, leopard, camo are all neutral prints that mix well with other prints.

Here is another look where I mixed a watercolor floral silk blouse with a pair of camo pants. Read this post.

Another post with a bold floral print with this same camo skirt. READ THE POST.

The deep burgundy Ann Taylor moto jacket really pops with the embroidery on the blouse.

I have kept it simple with black tights and my often worn croc textured booties by Dolce Vita. This creates a longer leg line by keeping the stockings and boots the same color.

Happenings

Just busy! I am in charge of shopping for everyone for Christmas, so sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming. I tried to quelch that thought by shopping early in October. I am still waiting on a few things to come in , but I am glad I shopped when I did.

I mentioned we did the Puppyup walk over the weekend for dog cancer, It was a good turnout, even though it was cold! ( yes, I am a wimp when it comes to the wind blowing and low temps! )

I made Butternut squash soup for the second time this season, as well as a Chicken Chili.

The recipe is for Turkey Chili, but I substituted turkey for lean ground chicken.

Nothing like those to warm the tummy!

One of the first posts of yours I ever read was the one featuring your camo skirt and the floral blouse. I rushed around and bought a camo skirt so I could try that pattern mixing myself. Need to get that skirt out again. We have been doing Weight Watchers and I hope maybe it will fit a little better!! I absolutely LOVE this look. What a rich, gorgeous color in that great jacket. And the details on that blouse are gorgeous. Also perfection, my friend.

I don’t know who’s cuter here, Jess–you or those darling pups in their jackets!! Lol! Of course, you look amazing, and I love the camo and printed top combo. Such great pattern mixing! I, too, made chili with ground chicken this week, and butternut squash soup last week!! Thinking alike in both trends and food! Lol!

Jess, great look and fabulous example of a more subtle pattern mix because the color palettes of the top and skirt are both muted and very similar. Topping it off with a color pop from your jacket was brilliant and just the right touch to bring a bit more interest.

I have worked with Caite & Kyla a few times in the past and I just love the patterns and embroidery they have to offer in their boutique. That shirt is so pretty with the color of your moto jacket. Your puppies are so cute in their jackets! I do most of my families Christmas shopping too and it is a lot of work! And, I’m not done!

What a great camo skirt, Jess. I love how the colors are so muted to almost appear like a solid. Your embroidered top is gorgeous and it really does create the perfect subtle pattern plat. Loving your red jacket, too! Such a fun fall outfit. And look at the little fur babies all decked out, too!

Your embroidered top is so beautiful and I love the burgundy jacket! It’s such a great colour on you and works well with the olive! I’ve done most of my Christmas shopping too but there’s always a couple extra things I buy in the lead up to Christmas as I see them for people haha! I just ordered a few presents earlier as well. Because I start my Christmas shopping in June there’s always room in the budget for the things I suddenly stumble across in November and December to get for gifts!

    Thanks for the link up!

Hope that you are having a good week 🙂
