Turning Heads #linkup- Trying Something New-Zara Poncho, Brown Faux Leather Leggings

IMG_0319 IMG_0320

Welcome to another weekly edition of Turning Heads Tuesday!!!

Today I thought I would try something a bit different. I asked Santa for this poncho first of all. When I opened the box this thick, geometric, super soft, poncho is in the shape of a giant square. I am not used to this! I like my clothes mainly fitted  to my shape, so this is new territory. I love the way they look on others, so I thought, ” Take a risk, why not?” If it doesn’t work out, I can blame it on Santa!

The geometric pattern caught my eye with the colors of mustard, taupe and brown seeming a very artistic mix with this sweater.  I do know about proportions, so I decided to pair this with these amazing chocolate brown leather leggings from Zara as well. Big, flowy sweater/poncho, skinny or long proportions on the bottom. To further lengthen the look, I am wearing my grey flannel heels ( that I wore for this look only.. as I dont wear a high heel). One could add a bold color to the shoe if desired to add a pop of color, but I am fresh out of cobalt stilletos, so you will have to imagine! I wanted a mix of various shades of browns and neutrals, mustard, chocolate, oatmeal/taupe, grey. I added a long gold pendant necklace, with additional gold leaf earrings to compliment.

I was quite happy I did try something new for me, and didn’t jump to conclusions as soon as I took it out of the package. I think it was quite fun! ( as fashion should be wink*wink*)

Tell me, what is something NEW you would like to try?

Do you dare go out of your “comfort zone”?

Most clicked for this week is: Olga in her festive and stunning red gown for the holidays. I love the shimmer of the bodice, the long black elegant gloves and sating clutch. See her at Local Fashion

MY PINTEREST PIC OF THE WEEK IS: Ani, from her blog, Fleurani as you all know what a trend OTK boots are, but I also am loving the fringe skirt!

Jess, today I am in blushing, baby pink. I’ve been wanting to try this color out for a while, so when I found a cozy sweater on sale at Banana Republic with an additional %50 off, I knew I found my chance. I don’t usually wear pink–even though I know it’s one of my colors. I have to admit: I feel rather pretty today. I’ll definitely be making an outfit post with this pretty pink number.

As per usual, you look fabulous! You styled the poncho perfectly accentuating your #legzfordayz 😀

Thanks for the link up Jess!

Jess , hands down this ensemble is my all time favourite of yours. The leather pants paired with this stylish poncho is so en vogue and sophisitcated. You should push your boundaries more often, I absolutely love it on you.
Thank you so much for featuring my okb and the fringe skirt, so flattered my dear :-*
I wanted to get that poncho in that color but it was sold out so I got it in black and grey and get so many compliments on it. I will show it on my blog on sunday 😉

have a wonderful rest of the week

Pushing the style boundaries can often yield results and this is ten fold here, Jess. It absolutely suits you! I love everything about the look on you. My those leather leggings are stunning. If I was an envious person I’d be suffering envy right now. And what a great present Santa gave you in your poncho! I know you’re more used to a close fit but honestly, this is so flattering on you. Bravo!

One should absolutely venture out of one’s comfort zone, Jess, and in fact, that’s my manifesto for 2016. Something I hope to do across all aspects of my life. And since what I wear is the one part which I have most control over, that’s where I’m starting with. I certainly agree you know proportions, you look fantastic here. Cobalt shoes notwithstanding 🙂 xoxo

Tue poncho works so well with the leggins, and is totally in keeping with your usual style of fitted clothes. The poncho really needs something fitted to go withbit, a pencil skirt might also work.
