Waxed Jeans

IMG_5927

Hello Ladies

Well, here we are, and let’s just say, I took a 180 and am wearing something you don’t see me in often! I saw them on so many girls, I really had to go try them on . This wasn’t a Christmas gift, just a purchase I havent had a chance to wear yet. You all know my style, more of Monday’s post, with skirts or dresses, but I have been thinking I would like to wear some jeans, and when I tried these on, they were so comfortable and cool, I had to lay that plastic down!

I have seen these on many bloggers, the waxed coated denim, and loved the look, but wasn’t sure I could pull it off, due to the sensitivity in my legs. However, when I tried them on at Loft, they were soft and light, not constricting. I also ordered a size up as I wanted to give them a looser look and have the ability to wear them as a boyfriend jean, rolled up if I wanted. I love that they look like leather, yet aren’t. So yes, “Edgy” is a term that is not used to describe my style much now is it :-)) ! One of my goals several years ago, for PT was to wear jeans, as silly as this sounds, i just wanted to get to a place to where they felt comfortable on my skin. I find a looser fit works better for me, so Boyfriend jeans, or a similar style. I bought the top later, as I had been looking for a plain crisp white top, as I think it is a piece we should all have in our wardrobe, but wanted some extra “bling” on the collar to dress it up.

I tried it on with my peplum black top, kind of like a vest, and it seemed to work well. I styled it with the denim, and discovered that I really liked this edgy, cool, jeweled look. What I love about the top too, is that there i s no need for a necklace, as the black stones acts as one, as one’s eye is drawn to the neck. The jeans are pretty skinny at the bottom, so boots would work, but I decided to pair the outfit with my 40s pumps with grey flanel, the shoes-only-worn-for-the-blog-shoes. So, being that tonight is New Years Eve, we will go out earlier, then come home to watch the ball drop.

So, as my style is more classic with vintage vibes, I decided to branch out a bit today and try these cool waxed jeans.
Now, to find them in white…

What is your “edgiest” look? What are your plans for tonight New Years Eve?

Linking up with the Mummy Chronicles

Have a great day and Happy New Year’s Eve!

Great outfit and indeed edgy. What a smart move to elongate the peplum with that fun, jewelled shirt. That is a trick I musn’t forget. I have to say, that this is exactly my style, even though I am 60 haha. As we say in The Netherlands: the older the crazier.
My edgy looks always mean skinnies, either with high heeled shoes (I love my silver slingbacks in summer) and a great top or jacket. I also have a few coated skinnies (one green and one burgundy). They do well too, although I should put in more time to style them with more items. I am so lazy.

Morning, I love hearing more about the Netherlands, as I have never been there love the saying, maybe one day. Glad you like my outfit. I don’t know if you have read, but I have a chronic pain connective tissue disease, and I can not wear tight jeans, so this has been a goal of mine to wear jeans period as I have leg sensitivity. Sometimes I will buy jeans a size bigger if I like the style, to make them look mor elike boyfriend jeans. I would love the coated skinnies you mentioned great colors! Again, I appreciate the lovely comments, and I am learning more about the Netherlands, my hubby and I hope to go there one year. xx jess

    Jess,
Love the waxed jeans, the peplum is so flattering ad that blouse is gorgeous, perfect combos and details. I am so glad that you found a pair that you can wear…. I know what that hypersensitivity feels like and it is no fun.

I buy one size bigger in some jeans as to not have them tight, I am going to have to buy a fwe belts or I could end up with diaper butt! thats no good. Yes, I plan on getting a white pair for a winter white look and for spring, as long as they are soft and comfy. Have a great weekend, jess xx

I love how you stepped out of your comfort zone and tried something new, and you pulled it off so well! The classic look is dressed up with little details like the waxed look of the jeans and quilted texture of the bag. Love it!

    Happy new year 🙂

You look great! I love my coated denim because they look like leather pants but are still within my comfort zone! I consider them to be a bit “edgy” too, so I’ve only worn them out to parties, but my goal for this winter is to find new ways to wear them. I’m glad you gave it a try and I hope you get a lot of wears out of them 🙂

    Happy New Year!
