12 Mar THT-A Rosy Outlook: Exploring the Timeless Appeal of Rose Prints
I wrote about rose prints and how they were trending for Spring in this last article.

Rose Prints
Not just any floral, roses are trending as a pattern to look for, for Spring. We like to say that some look at life through “Rose-colored” glasses, and now here is your chance! Rose colored glasses and rose print clothing! Here is a rose print pretty dress for Spring.
Roses have been the subject of many paintings are often associated with romanticism. Why does your significant other choose “roses” a the flower of choice on Valentine’s Day? Or other romantic times? Did you ever stop to think of it.
From the site, Nationalgalleries.org:
This connection is thought to originate from Egypt, where Cleopatra famously carpeted the floor of her boudoir with mounds of rose petals to seduce Mark Antony. The ancient Greeks and Romans associated the rose with the goddess of love, Aphrodite or Venus.
I have always loved a pretty large print floral, and this one caught my eye due to the “painted like” pattern- almost looking like something Monet would have painted. I have had this jacket for many years now, and either wear it open, or add a brooch to it, to act like a fastener since there are no buttons.
The pink roses, called for several other “romantic” details, and I picked up a little 3 pack of these flower chokers in some spring-fresh colors. In addition, the lace rose colored camisole would look like a good pairing.
If you want a “bolder” fashion look, you could do some pattern mixing with either a striped or gingham checked pink or blue button down, I am picturing the pink gingham as I type.
Not ready to give up the boots yet? Try a cream/ivory pair as a neutral, especially if you want the focal point to be your rose print blazer.
Since hubby took these pictures, I have had my hair done and bought new glasses, wait for those updates on the blog 🙂
This strappy pair of ivory kitten heels won me over, as i loved the strap detail and the smaller heel. I have always loved a good kitten heel, and stilettos are missing out of my fashion vocabulary these days. It’s either a chunky, block heel or a kitten heel.
Denim skirts still reign, and I have had this one for at least 5 years and loved the a-line button down style so much I bought two of them. ( Do you ever buy backups?) It gives me 70’s vibes with the button down style and hits just right at around the knee. I beleive I have all lengths now- the knee length, midi and maxi in denim skirts, donating my denim pencil skirts as I find them a bit more dressy than these and prefer these styles.

Look at this fabulous shoe- a rose and stem shoe! yes, please.

Now, if the shoe isn’t feasible, I would happily take this gorgeous rose clutch by Alexander McQueen!

Life Lately
I’ve been sick for a few weeks, so it is something I got this post out. I had Costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage around the ribs) and stomach issues probably from Gastroperesis. I will be getting a colonoscopy when you read this as I had to do the prep all day yesterday and just couldn’t get to posting. Just ruling out everything cardiac related at the ER last week, I spent 9 hours there. Ugh. This will tell me if there is something going on there, or if it is a flare up of GP. Anyhow, I am feeling a bit better as I write this.

Do you love rose patterns or are you not a floral person at all? Let me know in the comments 🙂
