IMG_9629Hello Ladies!  Welcome again to #turningheadstuesday!Hard to believe it is November already. It has been raining non stop here in Charlotte, but the weather at night  is awesome. You know the chill-in-the-air-cuddle-under-the-blankets-while-drinking-hot-cocoa-kind of weather :-) That's my kind of sleeping weather. I was glad I was able to get one good day in where I could take some photos without having to stand under an umbrella again.

Hello Ladies, Glad you are here for another monthly installment of My Refined Style!I am enjoying being a part of this linkup with all of my other lovely fashionista friends!I love the look of a vintage style when I can, so this romantic burgundy floral cardigan has been styled throughout the years. I bought this at LOFT about 5 years ago. In order to style it in more of a vintage fashion, I loved to add details like my ruby stoned dragonfly brooch, and this burgundy faux fur stole. The distressed brown booties add more to the vintage look. The...

IMG_9614Hello Ladies!First, let's talk hair. I think we all love our hair to suit our coloring, personality, style . Last week, for Turning heads Tuesday, it was a more red- darker copper. When my stylist, who is awesome, did my hair, as to eliminate my greys, more copper was added to my red hair. I am used to my golden -red or gold copper look, and thought it was too dark for me.

Hello Ladies!I hope everyone had a fun Halloween, and it is hard for me to believe it is November already. I love the Holidays, and I remember in my 20s , I used to buy my Christmas gifts and have them wrapped in my closet by now! Well, things have slowed down a bit, and I am not that organized, and found that it really didn't help me to buy early, i would just find things and continue to buy closer to the Holidays!  So I would spend more money. So, I take them as they come and like to...

Fashion, Spotlight On Over 40 Blogs / 30.10.2015

choiesfloralmaxiskirt13Hello Readers,If you have been following, or you are a new reader, I do a monthly series, called "Spotlight On; Over 40" where I like to interview my over 40 friends/bloggers and get their input and fashion sense.Today I am happy to present my interview with my bellisma amica, Val of Fashion and Cookies blog. I have gotten to know Val a little bit more this year, through her wonderful elegant and chic style, along with the beauty tips she shares on her blog. We have similiar styles and I wanted the readers to get to know more about Val. She has great style with many feminine looks and also some fun, chic, street style fashion as well. I know she has fun with fashion, which we all need to do! We both have a love for color and accessories, so I hope you enjoy this interview.Well, the first question I had to ask her was obvious, as these are two of my favorite things as well!!

IMG_9367Hello LadiesYes, another fall blazer in my collection!. I add some each year, as I find colors in this jacket very "fall" , like leaves on the trees with the olive, rust, orange, yellows and browns interwoven in this Layfayette149NY jacket. The necklace you saw on me last week from Sylca Designs adding more bronze and brown to this fall look. I want to share with you a brief history on Tweed, as it is one of Fall's trends and favorite textiles.  Take notes ladies! ( Ok, the former teacher in me, will digress)

IMG_9509Hello Ladies! Welcome to #turningheadstuesday fashion #linkup!I wanted to put a look together that represented part of my personality. I love vintage or vintage looking items, and found these super cool laced up leather vintage boots in Asheville last year. I love the cognac color and pointed toe and wanted to play on that color scheme and vintage look.  I thought apropos for the fall season.  Yes, another brooch of mine! :-)

IMG_9460Hello LadiesI excited today to share with you two looks and how to take this lovely peacock patterned top from Fabrizio Gianni from a Day to Night Look. We all love to make the most out of our wardrobes, and buy pieces that can serve us in many ways, or make our closets more versatile. Fabrizio Gianni has come out with a new line of V Neck patterned tops for fall with some fun fashionable looks. You have seen this style top on me, in a bright rasberry color when I showed"How to Wear Brights . These patterns can be dressed up and down, in ways I am going to show you today. The pattern stood out to me, as I love the shades of blue and moss green and lets face it, the peacock is a beautiful bird! I am doing my best here, to strut my struff!
