Bellorita – A Special Clutch Styled with Black and White / Pop of Red

Hello friends,

I realize tomorrow is the 4th of July. For a subtle look for 4th of July see yesterday’s post.  I’ve also included some links to former year’s 4th of July outfits. Happy 4th friends!  I am wearing stripes 😉  We tend to stay home and  sit on our deck, keeping Truffles and Gibson company, as my girl is very afraid of Fireworks. Mom and I were reminiscing  about how the loud booms! at Dormont’s Fireworks display,( in Pittsburgh)  when I was little would make me cry! We will just sit out on the porch, with the pups, glass of beer or wine and may see some behind the trees, cuddling Truffles as much as we can, as she shakes. I think most pups are afraid of Fireworks!

I am not sure how you feel, but I love to find companies that have unique or handcrafted products. When Bellorita reached out to me, I was captivated by the hand carved and painted drawings on their home page. I browsed, looking at each design of the purses and clutches they sold, finally deciding on a koi fish with bubbles represented by interspersed white pearls on the bag.

Before I talk about Bellorita, if you are jonesin’ for a 4th of July outfit, in addition to yesterday’s look, have a look at  last years post.

and  this Karina Dress post for the 4th.

Bellorita Clutch

I made my way to the page featuring other bloggers, only to find that several of us had also chosen the black leather fish clutch. The pearls added to the elegance, as did the well crafted bag and painted on fish. When visiting my mom in Pittsburgh, I noticed a neighbor 3 doors down had Koi fish and pond in their front yard and I thought about what they represent.

  • wiki definition – Koi Fish meaning in Japan is good fortune or luck they also are associated with perseverance in adversity and strength of purpose, the Koi fish symbolize good luck, abundance and perseverance. Symbolic in Buddhism is to represent courage.

When I read this, I felt that the koi fish’s meaning  certainly applied to my life’s situation. I have felt lucky to have found a diagnosis for my illness, giving me the direction to which I needed to find pain control and management. I also felt that the perseverance and courage required to not give up, not retreat, meant something to me as well. There was many a day in the beginning of the illness, 10 years ago, where I wondered how I could possibly deal with the severe muscle pain I had. How could I live my life enjoying the things I did? Could I accept change?

I thought all of this quite fascinating when learning what the Asian symbol meant. I loved the hand painted design, elegant drawing and the pearls strategically placed for bubbles. I also love things with meaning, as well as uniqueness. I doubted that I would see this handbag/clutch on anyone in Charlotte or the Lake Norman area, and I also wanted to bring something unique and beautiful to my readers.

The bag- clutch according to the website-

This outstanding textured black leather and pearl embellished clutch is truly a masterpiece of design. Hand carved and sensitively blooming painted, the handbag features a delicate gold shoulder chain and short wrist strap. The pearls sparkle across the handbag, evoking playful bubbles brought to the waters’ surface by the fish. It can also be worn as an elegant evening clutch bag.

I love that it has a chain if I decide to wear it out, or carry it as an evening clutch to the shows or Symphony. Very nice!

Bellorita also features other designs in handbags and a blue design for this same clutch should you choose blue over black.

Thank you Bellorita.

I thought I would create a classic black- white look with a touch of red. You saw these elegant knotted red tassel earrings from Mango when i went to the rock concert a few weeks ago. i paired it with my polka dot shell from Ann Taylor and an AT striped skirt. Adrienne Allen tops off the look with tassled black sandals. This classic look would be great to wear to dinner, out to an event, to a show. Anywhere you are in the mood for classic black and white, with a pop of color and an elegant bag!

I love your striped outfit and those long red earrings. Such a beautiful Fourth of July inspiration, but not over-the-top. I also really adore that handcrafted bag. It is very special. I also remember when I had dogs that they were afraid of the fireworks.

Jess, this is a beautiful outfit and such a gorgeous bag! I love what the koi fish represents as well. I never knew that but I have always been drawn to them as designs on clothing and such. In fact, I currently have been watching a kimono with a koi fish print…but we all know that I really do not need another kimono…so I am waiting for it to go on sale! Have a happy 4th of July, my friend!
