Black Friday Sales- BLACK- Featured Cashmere Poncho+ Other Sales

TGIF Ladies! Is everyone stuffed from Thanksgiving? We had such a good time as my sister’s family came for Thanksgiving and i made a dish with the smoked turkey, along with corn pudding, cranberries and pumpkin pie to finish.   I remember having some traditions we had when my grandpap was alive. As part Ukrainian, Pap would have us eat a tablespoon of Kutya before the meal, as it represented,”Good Luck”. My memory was me, holding my nose, and shoveling it in, as to not disappoint my Pap.  We would go around the table and say what we were thankful for. I’d love to hear of traditions you do during the holidays as well.

I know some people have a tradition of going out and shopping on Black Friday with their mom or friends. I did get up years ago, at  the crack of dawn, with my husband, as he wanted a certain computer Best Buy was offering. We did not end up getting the deal, and needless to say, since we were there, we went in the store. I did not like the feeling. Rushing, pushing, chaos and urgency of people around me, as I was bumped into and pushed with not an “excuse me’ in sight. To me, nothing is worth this type of behavior, nor does it make me feel the meaning of the holiday. I would much rather, stay in the comfort of my home, casually sitting on the couch, cup of coffee in hand, looking at some Sales online. Today, I am sharing some of those Black Friday sales with you.

You have read the posts; BLACK Luxury Accessories, and BLACK Cashmere Ring Shawl. I have styled both beautiful cashmere pieces, and am styling this luxurious cashmere roll neck poncho for you today. BLACK, the luxury accessory company out of the UK, is offering  20% off sitewide (over 800 accessories & gifts) from 24th-27th of November plus free international shipping with orders over $125.

Looking for Holiday gifts, BLACK has sections for Men’s and Women’s Gifts giving family and friends a bit of luxury and a feeling of comfort. BLACK is affordable luxury. You can view their site for gifts in certain price ranges for men and women, making it easier to navigate. Read more about the company and the items I have styled with these posts:

BLACK Luxury Accessories- Treat Yourself!

BLACK-Houndstooth Cashmere Ring Shawl

Today I have styled a Roll Neck Knit Cashmere poncho. I loved the style and am a fan of turtlenecks and keeping warm as the months get colder. Here are the details of the poncho from BLACK’s website:

This cashmere poncho is expertly knitted from top quality cashmere yarn in a plain stitch with purl stitch band at the bottom and on the roll neck. It is comfortable has an elegant drape and side vents which extend above the elbow.Crafted in Italy it is understated an excellent replacement for a light jacket and teams well with monochrome separates.

  • The length from the nape of the neck is 67 cm.
  • 100% Cashmere.
  • Made in Italy.
  • Size: One Size

This poncho is elegant and sophisticated, can be dressed up in many ways. If you dress more casual, I would wear this with a pair of dark denim, perhaps a velvet pair of slip ons for a put together look., with a colorful bag. This poncho would be a very versatile Fall piece for your wardrobe. For a dressy outfit, wear it with a pair of faux leather trousers and a pair of sock booties. Try pairing it with a leather skirt and a velvet heel for the holidays, adding a brooch or some long elegant earrings.

Since I am fair skinned with red hair, I like to add a warm tone near my face, as black came sometimes look stark against some skin tones. I usually wear a scarf or earrings to add a warm color.

I decided to style this look for the Holiday season with this faux leather mini from Ann Taylor ( old), Marc Fisher red suede shoes, gold earrings and necklace from Charming Charlies and my leopard clutch from Express. ( sim)

I love ponchos and cashmere, so that is the perfect combo! It looks fabulous on you, and I love the way you styled it with fishnet stocking…so much fun! It sounds like you had a great Thanksgiving with family! I didn’t cook this year, but traditionally, I cook my family recipes for Thanksgiving and Christmas…ones passed down from my Grandmother and my Mother. I love getting out my Mother’s old recipe book with her handwritten cards. It reminds me of all the times she had it on the counter cooking something special. Have a great week, and thanks for linking up.

Thank you Julie! i couldn’t resist choosing this one as it is a bit thicker and i love the stitching a thte bottom and roll neck. We did have a great time, and i made a new recipie this year. That is wonderful that you want to use older recipies from your mom, bringing back memories. xx

Hi Jess – what is kutya? I totally agree with your view of Black Friday shopping. Now that I work in a small, well known women’s clothing store p/t.I have no patience for shopping.
FYI I just saw a wonderful exhibit in NYC on Louis Vuitton/ It was so interesting and well displayed- if any of your readers live or are visiting NYC through the beginning of January. It displayed the history of the brand and the incredible traveling trunks that they were famous for.

Hi Rebecca! Kutya is this http://www.geniuskitchen.com/recipe/ukrainian-christmas-kutya-77525, not very appealing as a kid. I understand totally about the lack of desire to shop in stores, especially when u work in one! Oh, thank you that exhibit sounds so interesting, I love the history of fashion…I’ll have to mention it. Thank you and enjoy your weekend. Jess xx
