Brown and Teal with Fur Appeal

IMG_5571

Hello Ladies

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Sometimes after a weekend away, I have to physically recoup, but also sometimes I just like to stay at home at relax, take my epsom salt baths, have some wine, listen to music. This weekend, we mostly stayed home, but went out once to lunch at a place I have mentioned a few times here, Port City Club.

IMG_5568It was a really cold day! It can be like this in Charlotte, where one day one doesn’t need a coat, the next one is searching for gloves, a hat, and a winter coat. Today was one of those days. We went to do some chores, go to one of the best and most reasonable alterations place, that hems my jeans for $8 each, and took in some of my skirts. I have gone to her for years and she has always done a fab job! Afterward, I don’t know about you, but running errands makes us hungry, so we went to PCC and ate on the patio, overlooking Lake Norman. I love looking at the atmosphere, and that is what I like about warmer weather, still looking outside. When it gets too cold, and we are inside more than not, it isn’t quite as fun.

Anyhow, no pictures of food today, as we got an excellent bottle of Grenache, a favorite red wine, if you haven’t tried it. If you are one to like Malbec, but with a little less spice, or Tempranillo, a Granache would be for you! Give it a try!

I was in a vintage mood again, and if you follow my blog, you know I love this style, and if I could afford to find and go all vintage I would. However I do like a  mix of styles, more classic, vintage and occasional trendy. I just don’t jump on the first trend that comes out. I have to LOVE it! I have LOVED faux fur for YEARS!! I know faux fur is in right now, but as I lover of vintage pieces, I always loved the glam look of a faux fur stole, fur collar, and the like. What I like about this stole is that I can wear it with a jacket or sweater and create a new look I have also liked velvet for a long time. What  you won’t find me in , is velvet and a button down shirt with large lapels! That would be too 70s! I have always loved the richness of it and you know I like the jewel tone, teal. I decided to pair teal velvet jacket, with a brown lace detailed skirt, my brown fur stole from a vintage Etsy shop several years ago attached with a teal brooch, and my new BORN brown leather boots.

I will do a post in the near future on how to find deals as well, because I have found some amazing deals on some excellent clothes, shoes etc, on Ebay and other discount sites.

Sometimes, we all need a few down days, just a time to unwind, relax, and just take it easy. Make sure you are doing that for yourself as well!

Have a great week!

Jess xo

You look lovely in these autumnal colours, they enhance the colour of your hair without competing with it. Oh I could use some relaxing now, it’s a bit too hectic at work and I’m getting so stressed..

Yes, winter is when I thnk I am getting my treadmill area decluttered and just walking on it in the gargae with a space heater. I am not one of cold, so I would prefer to be inside. Born and Sofft have the Best boots and I got these for $75 on Ebay, a great find as they were like new and the quality is amazing. Thanks! jess xx
