Hello friendsGlad to be back but had an amazing time visiting my brother and sis in law in DC. This was long overdue, as I hadn't seen their condo and wanted to visit the area. We initially went to see and take pictures of the blooming Sakura trees (cherry blossoms) but they had a freeze and snow prior to, causing them to freeze and not bloom. Not one cherry tree! My brother said "we made history" and that this has not happened before.  Nevertheless, we had a great time visiting the monuments,and I found the WWII Memorial particuarly impressive. We did have lunch at the Willard,  and I had a "Blossom Martini" if that counts, in one of the oldest hotel in the area. The woodwork and round bar had a nostalgic feeling to it. The bar was the Round Robin.

img_9193( The view outside our room) This was just one small area of the expansive grounds at the hotel.Hello Friends! Wow. We had an amazing trip! I have come back feeling motivated and refreshed. I went with my hubby, younger brother Matt, and his wife, Shannon. When we choose the hotel, The El Monte Segrado, in Taos, months ago, I knew we were in for a special stay. We were celebrating both our 15th Anniversary and their 3rd Anniversary, so we were due for some pampering, and it exceed our expectations! I knew I had to break down these blog posts into several posts as we had done so much in a matter of 5 days. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to do as well as I did as we walked a lot, and did quite a bit.

Hello Ladies!Welcome back to #TurningheadsTuesday! Glad to have you here and see the fashions on these hot summer days.If you didn't get a chance, check out my post from yesterday on my collaboration with Uncommon Goods and the beautiful bracelet that I will most certainly take to the beach when we return. Boy, did I need the vacation. It also gave me a rest from the computer and most of social media. It did feel good to get away for awhile and just be "in the moment". I would have love to have taken better pictures on the beach, but...

 IMG_7353Hello LadiesI wanted to share with you the photos of our recent trip to one of my favorite Vineyards, Raylan Vineyards here in NC. Let's see, there are 95 Vineyards in NC so we need to plan where we want to go each weekend! haha. Anyway, I decided to name this post Orange Shift Dress and My Mom's Genes, however I thought the mere mention of Mom Jeans might turn some away. I am speaking of "Genes" here though. My mom has the gift of being able to speak to anyone and striking up conversations with ease. I think I inherited "mom's genes" as we sat on the comfortable wicker outdoor couch with our picnic and '14 Chardonnay I had the task of tasting. I must have this face that makes people feel at ease to open up. We still laugh that after stopping at a rest stop, mom came out talking to another woman we hadn't seen before. We asked her who the woman was, and she said, " Oh, we just started talking in the ladies' room"... See, "mom's genes." We certainly laugh about it, but I think it was passed on to me, and we were able to enjoy speaking to different people at the vineyard about NC wines, puppies, and the like.

IMG_9077Hello Ladies!!Welcome back to another edition of #Turningheadstuesday!! I am sharing with you another one of my looks from #NYFW, as I wore this to the #BetseyJohnson fashion show. Perhaps I could have worn a big tulle fluffy pink dress with a corset outer, but thought that just might be a bit over the top for me, so I saw this on Zara and had to have it!  I know I have shown alot of lace outfits lately, but what can I say.. I love fine well made lace and the color was a surprise! On the website, it looked more maroon, which I thought would be lovely, but when I received it, it is a brick shade and I thought, even better!!

  ash8Hi Ladies!Hope you all had a great weekend. We are winding down on the trip and this is our last week here. We have enjoyed so many culinary delights, discovered new vineyards with the pups, loafed through this artsy city, and enjoyed the mountains through walks in the woods and it's views.Just one of the views of "SkyBar" a bar off the rooftop and on a fire escape of one of the tall buildings in Asheville. You can't beat the view! We had a great time!
