Turning Heads linkup- Styling Faux Leather Leggings with Combat Boots and a Camel Blazer

Zara camel blazer with Spanx faux leather leggings and combat boots

Combat boots are still hot and I frankly have loved them for years. I do, however Like the more streamlined ones that aren’t so big and chunky like a Doc Martin Style, and I am sharing these leather ones from Cecelia NY, gifted to me by Soft Surroundings.

Zara camel blazer

My outfit- The boots

I had been looking for a pair with a bit of detail, and like these Pippa jeweled combat boots, by Karl Lagerfield,. However, I had read about some of the jewels coming off and I didn’t want to deal with that. When choosing items for Fall from the Soft Surroundings catalogue, these from Cecelia Ny, stood out to me. The chain detail and side zip were those details I was looking for. The chunky boot, but not too chunky was my style and the leather was beautiful. It comes in a taupe suede as well. I have another pair of favorite boots by Cecelia NY I was gifted years ago, and they are unique and fun as well.

Another reason I like the bit of a lug sole and combat style, is it really is the dichotomy of my feminine style. It is quite fun and unexpected to pair with floral dresses or flowy dresses in this way.

The Blazer

A camel blazer has been on my wishlist for awhile over the summer, as I wanted it as a staple piece to wear during Fall months.  Blazers are great as a 3rd piece, as I think they always elevate an outfit.

Searching high and low, and came across this long camel blazer with gold buttons on Zara. I love the double breasted style and the slightly longer length. I did pay full price, as prices were similar on Poshmark and I hadn’t purchased a blazer from Zara before, so I was unsure of fit.

I did get my size small, and am quite happy that  the sleeves are long and it is the perfect fit. Many a time have I dealt with getting XS or S  in things and sleeve length is too short! Manufacturers need to think of us tall ladies!

The shoulders are pronounced and give that 90s vibe, but I think it is fitting with the jacket.

Leggings

My Spanx faux leather leggings are worn here as the jacket is longer. I styled them with a tunic HERE. I think I will be wearing them a bit this Winter! I will show ways to wear them as the weather gets colder.

October is Moving Right Along!

We have done some pumpkin picking, I just bought my girl her halloween costume ( Princess Leia) and Gibby will be an Ewok.

I made some butternut squash soup the other day and I just love it with good bread. I purchased a new cookbook for a Christmas present too.

Charlotte is finally getting a chill in the air in the morning! So, I did tackle my closet over the weekend as well. Bought a few solid silk blouses, a couple new sweaters, and am selling what I don’t wear on Poshmark and giving the rest to Goodwill.

from Soft Surroundings  * these boots were gifted to me by Soft Surroundings. All opinions in this post are honest and truthful.

Shimmery curb chain woven with leather adds jewelry-like lacing to this classic leather moto boot. Also detailed with a round toe, side zip, layered rubber outsole and heavy-duty lug sole. Edgy and surprisingly lightweight, it’s ideal for navigating the urban landscape. 1″ heel, 3/4″ platform.

I am a big fan of combat boots too! I love how edgy they look. For someone basic like me, it definitely adds a beautiful detail. These combat boots from Soft Surroundings are stunning. I love that the chain detail and how it is more streamlined than some combat boots I have seen. The gold goes so well with your blazer and your entire look is fall perfection!

Oooh Jess, this outfit is right up my alley! I love those boots! The chain detail really does make them extra special. And they look amazing with your leather leggings. I have dozens of blazers and not a single one is camel! I think I need to start looking for one. As you know, blazers are one of my favorite things to search thrift stores for! Beautiful fall outfit, my friend. I can’t wait to see the pups in costume!

What a wonderful black and tan outfit Jess!
I don’t own a pair of combat boots because their outside my comfort zone.
I would like to think at 64 that I can wear them but I think I’m too old to wear them.
Perhaps if I was wearing a boho outfit I might be able to pull it off.

Thank you Robin! Fashion is all about what one is comfortable in ! Perhaps try them on and see what you think. I have always been a fan, but do like the more streamlined pairs.
