16 Feb Leather, Lace and Tweed

 Hello Ladies

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s weekend. It was bitter cold here in Charlotte, so I got to wear my pink coat! I do have to say, as a red head, I do wear a fair amount of pink, and much of it has to do with one’s complexion.

The beauty of fall/winter is layering different textures and colors, lengths and styles. This baby pink lace top with the leather detailing on the sleeves, the collar and the buttons really spelled out romance and femininity to me, and I wanted to combine it with a different texture, tweed.

You all know i love the look of well made lace, so this top has the propensity to take me throughout the seasons. I decided to take my black peplum top, and create a layered look, with it almost taking the role of a vest. The pink lace with the black tweed is another combination of colors that may be unexpected, as pink is often paired with lighter colors, although I love it with black or grey. My peacoat just added another layer to the look, and helped to keep me warm in below freezing temperatures.

I know I haven’t been snowed in, but February pretty much makes me itch for spring. This is when I tend to start looking for spring trends, spring colors etc.
