Hello Lovely ladies

I just wanted to take this time to say I am very grateful for meeting you all, and I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday, and also to a Healthful New Year. It is hard to believe it will soon be 2015!

Enjoy the time with friends and family and I am thankful for the blessings I do have.  So, stay cozy, warm, drink hot cocoa or Gingerbread Lattes, lots of chocolate, and enjoy the season!!

I have fun memories of this time of year, looking at the Christmas animated windows downtown, that sense of wonder as a child looking at the wall above, as you couldn’t possibly sleep that night, believing that you did hear sounds in the middle of the night. I enjoyed my friends and I  going around the neighborhood, my best friend Mara, and i singing, her brother playing the  flute, as we collected money in my created Ziggy cartoon coffee container. We had such fun yearly going to town and singing Christmas carols on the radio as we gave our coffee can of money to Children’s hospital. It was so fun and rewarding then. Later, the memories of when I taught at a public school and taught the children choreography and songs to perform for “Christmas in Davidson”, but even more rewarding for me, was taking those same children to one of the elderly homes, to surprise them as we returned each year for music and christmas carols as they enjoyed seeing the kids so much.

These are some of the memories that stick with me. Sometimes, I get bothered by all of the commercialism that the holiday does bring, but each person can always make it what they want. Some years,  depending on my health, i was able to visit my family in Pittsburgh, while other times I saw my husband’s family and experienced their traditions. My husband and I still have our traditions of, of course playing Bing Crosby and all of the classic Christmas tunes while putting ornaments on the tree, and having a glass or two of wine. Christmas day, we sleep in , and later let our pups dig into their stockings, which involves sometimes sticking their heads into them, looking for that special treat or toy! We then exchange stockings, my hubby and I, while having some coffee or hot cocoa, by the fire. Then, we open our gifts and have our Christmas day at home. I enjoy this time relaxing together and just enjoying the day.

I look forward to seeing what you would like to share on the blog, when “Santa” stops by. Being that these are all fashion blogs, let’s assume we have all be “nice” not “naughty” and Santa knows our style and tastes.( My little furball Truffles, will be getting her OWN heating pad!) I also look forward to hearing some of your traditions.

Needless to say, I did not get up at 5am and come tearing down the stairs after waking my husband, and yelling “Santa came”, ‘ Santa came”! We prefer a pretty relaxed Christmas Day.

Tell me, later when the festivities have died down, what are some of your Christmas memories and holiday traditions?

Have a listen to one of my favorite songs of Christmas time, “Christmas Time is Here”. You may also recognize it as, “The Charlie Brown Christmas ” 🙂

Hello Jess 🙂 Hope you had a very relaxing and beautiful Christmas. This year I’ve arrived in Germany a couple days early because my mother has been ill since October and I wasn’t much around the blogosphere in the last week. Anyway, seeing as I celebrate in Germany it’s very similar to what Anette described and we exchanged gifts the evening of the 24th.

What a crazy cute baby pic of your little furry one! Our daughter still believes in Santa (I think this will be the last year…and she may have been humoring me this year!) so we make magic reindeer food on Christmas Eve and sprinkle it in the yard for Santa’s deer. Thankfully, she doesn’t get up super early! But even so it still takes her some time to get her grown brother fully awake so she can open her gifts.
Hope you had a great day at home with your hubby! Merry Christmas!

Glad you had nice Christmas, Jess! My children are with me and the house is full with even more young people now.
In Germany Christmas is still very traditional and we celebrate at night of the 24th December after church and usually a light meal. Most families have big Christmas lunches on both 25th and 26th December.
It is a bit more relaxed at my place – same as you described it!

Wishing you a very merry Christmas, Jess! Love that pic of your little fur-baby … sooo cute! We have a relaxed day over here too, but I’m a natural early bird, so I’m up at 5am and the hubby probably won’t roll out of the bed for hours. Hope Santa is good to us both! 😉
Big hugs to one of my fav bloggers!

Aww, thanks Dawn same to you ( fav blogger :-)) That pic was taken when she was a puppy and not as camera shy. I am not an early bird, used to be when I was teaching, I would naturally get up at 5 as well. Wit this illness, I take an epsom salt bath early and go back to bed. So, we start Christmas a bit later. Yes, I am sure you have been “nice ” this year, xoxo jess
