17 Apr My contribution to the #Boho Look
Hello ladies!
We all know this is a huge trend right now, last week I gave you ideas and links to some of my favorite gladiator shoes in flats, heels, fringe bags and dresses.
If you didn’t get a chance to view these styles and links click HERE.
Yesterday when I was out and about I saw a young girl in he teens or so, who had this bohemian look from head to toe. Literally! A headband, flowy flowery top with embroidery, jean shorts cut, and gladiator sandals. She also carried a fringe bag. It is similar to when one wears a particiular style from another era, say the 50s, it can be hard not to look like you just stepped out of your favorite soda shop, or just danced on American Bandstand. Sometimes an outfit can work, but pair it with a modern bag, or perhaps you love gladiator sandals and a fringe bag, and are wearing it to add to your jeans and cute summery top. This is just my opinion.
I honestly don’t have much in this style in my wardrobe. Perhaps I should have saved some of my clothes from the 70s …wait! I was 2 then, scratch that!!
However, since we are taking boho, and I have a music background, it always makes me think of Woodstock. I could go on and on about my love for Jimi Hendrix, The Stones, Janise Joplin, the era I consider to be one of the top eras for music and the guitar. However, since we are talking fashion, a girl I saw yesterday, looked liked she walked out of Woodstock , well, no,perhaps no one actually “walked” out of Woodstrock! Maybe stumbled, crawled, were dragged out by friends.
I saw this dress at Loft years ago,and I do like an over the shoulder look. I have a Hobo green bag from Hayden Harnett, NY with tassels, and am wearing one of my favorite pairs of sandals, kind of a subtle gladiator in nude. Now, what to do you say we bring back tie dye t-shirts?
As for the guitar. It is my favorite Taylor Guitar I bought coming out of college. I need to get back into playing my music, and just picking this up reminded me of that. The center piece is a design used to get a certain tone and I just thought it looked cool.
Dress: old, Loft./ Boho bag: Hayden Harnett NYC/ Earrings: new Charming Charlie, Guitar:Taylor 412 Acoustic.
Now, just a little something to listen to while you are choosing what “boho” look you want to wear:
One of my favorite songs by none other than Janice Joplin: ” A Little Piece of my Heart”
And of course ,THE most popular Anthem for Bohemians and one of my favorite songs! Now, listen and bob your head up and down to the chorus..We Cant talk of Bohemian without mentioning , by Queen ” BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY”

Posted at 23:04h, 20 AprilSo true. Being dressed top to toe from one era can result in looking costumey 🙂 you, on the other hand, look simply pretty. Love that headband. Now let me grab my tambourine.

Posted at 20:14h, 17 AprilI love the way that you pulled of the boho trend in a feminine way! I have such a hard time wearing the boho style myself. Fortunately, for this edgy gal, Stevie Nicks crosses the boho & edgy lines so I look to her for ways to incorporate the boho style into my mostly black wardrobe! I appreciate the songs that you embedded in the post as well! -Rebecca// http://www.daisydisdain.com
