Hi Ladies!! Today was a day that we took a chance on the weather and decided to go out to one of most popular Vineyards, called Shelton Vineyards, here in NC. Turned out to be perfect. Cool, in the 70s, a change from the heat we have had here recently.
This vineyard is about an hour and a half drive, and one of the more popular ones in North Carolina. The vineyard is filled with trees, red poppies, several wooden bridges, and a weeping willow tree. A huge vineyard grows Cabernet, red blends, chardonnay, and many other grapes. We enjoyed a red blend at the table with a delicious bread bowl brought out with flaky yet soft scones and some zucchini bread that was delectable! My husband was in seventh heaven.Let’s just say there is a reason you see us eat out in these pictures! The wine was very mellow tasty, with a bit of sweetness. It was a red wine sold by the Vineyard.
I was served an unbeleiveable dish of cornbread crab cakes ( their specialty) with snap peas, sautéed squash and other vegetables. Hubby had a seafood stew with mussels, shrimp, clams, vegetables in a broth that was also delicious. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach, but I was able to manage to finish it. A perfect meal for a perfectly cool day, in the 70s, something we had not seen in Charlotte since, lets say Spring!
The outfit I chose to wear was light and carefree, a combination of a pale blush and taupe snakeskin chiffon skirt, and a neutral cardigan, added with touches of nude gladiator sandals and an Etsy necklace containing shades of peach, tans and browns. Louis came with me as well. Enjoy the pictures of Shelton Vineyards and the outfit I put together for the day.
Viva la Shelton!
Enjoy your day!
