13 Oct Ruby: A Different Kind of Gem
It seems to be there is an awful lot of me discussing jewel tones or gem stones. Perhaps it is just my subconscious telling me something. Rubies are one of my favorite stones, as it is my birthstone. I was born in July. However, the Ruby, in which I am referring is a Karina Dress, named the Ruby and I find it equally a gem.
^ Kitten heel , exciting for me, even though the are 1 inch! 🙂
Karina Dresses, whom I have featured on my site many times, are such lovely dresses, and Made in the USA. I have tried the Audrey, named after Audrey Hepburn, The Megan, whose vintage 40s style with short sleeves and full skirt is a favorite of mine, and this dress, the Ruby, I absolutely adore the faux wrap style, the little floral pattern with a touch of baby blue, copper, and light brown colors. I saw many potentials to wear this and style it in various ways. I love vintage style clothes, and Karina really fits the bill, and is such my style. I adorned this dress with other vintage looking pieces, such as my feather and tweed brooch, and my copper brown necklace.
We went with my hubby and his dad who was visiting to attend the Nascar Race, here in Charlotte, and also spend some time with us. We took him to Childress Vineyards, one of our favorite Vineyards and wineries here in NC. The day was grey and rainy, so most of the pictures were inside or undercover. My hubby ( my photographer) bought a new flash for the use of my blog, and especially when the colder, darker days approach. Sorry we did not get pictures of the food at the Bistro, but it was too delicious and I was too hungry to wait! I had the grouper with mushroom risotto, butternut squash, and cornbread, with a delicious Red blend wine.
I chose this dress as I just love the style, and the wrap dress is something I have wanted to add more of to my closet As you know, I love florals, and this small floral pattern was just perfect for cool fall months, with the tiny brown flowers I will later pair with a rust cardigan and perhaps some knee high boots. I really enjoy wearing the Karina dresses as I am not a fan of ironing ( who is?) and they are as comfortable as pajamas ! ( a win win in my book!) Lastly, another pair of KITTEN heels, ( a one inch heel) I just had to buy from Poshmark, as I loved the scalloped detail on the sides, the ribbon, and the small bow. It is quite exciting for me, after many years to be able to wear even a small heel.
Have a Great Day!!
