IMG_0477Hello Ladies,I hope you had a great weekend. For me, January I could take it or leave it. Just kind of dreary and cold. I like to make the most of the weekend, so we decided to go to the Wine Maestro. I couldn't help but like the name to the new place, I suppose a metaphor for someone in charge for the composition of flavors, aroma, and taste of the wines. There are some similarities aren't there. If one decides to describe the flavor, the term is "notes" for wine terminology. I just know what I like. I can taste the obvious, if it was aged in an oak barrel vs stainless steel, fruit flavors etc. I enjoy wine tasting as I like to learn about the regions, the grapes etc. I suppose that is why I was a teacher as well, I like to learn new things.. My guitar instructor told me, there is always something to keep learning in life. I wouldn't go through the music program and say, "well, that's it! , I've learned all I can about jazz guitar!"The same can be said with fashion. There are always new things to learn. Today I am sharing a casual look wearing my Citizens of Humanity dark denim straights, a brown tweed jacket, and a pair of favorite casual leopard slip ons. Part of my goal this year with the blog is to continue to learn new things about fashion, new ways to style, new topics to explore or share. Today this is one of the ways I will style this ruffled, brown tweed jacket. A casual way one could wear this look to run errands, go out to the movies, lunch etc. I will also style this blazer in the future in a more dressy way.

Hello LadiesWelcome back to the My Refined Style Linkup, the first of 2016! We are here on the 1st Thursday of each month,  spreading our joy of fashion and seeing all of your great outfits too! I can't remember when I began my Love Affair. Not of a torrid nature, mind you, but my love affair with Sweater Dresses! I have quite a few in my closet and I always have felt that "comfortable" should not be a four letter word in the fashion industry. I used to watch Stacey and Clinton, of What Not to Wear Tv fame, and...

IMG_0062IMG_0125Hello LadiesI hope you had a wonderful Christmas vacation! We did, and i will share some pics here and there of the pups and our tree. Santa was good to me, and all of us. I think back of all of the memories I  have, and it seems we need a larger tree due to all of the ornaments we collect and give at Christmas time. Truffles and Gibson went crazy over their doggie stocking as I had put in bags of Zuke Salmon treats, squeaky balls and toys. Santapaws brought them coats to, and those pics will come later, as the weather even on Christmas day was 72 degrees!! I have yet to wear a winter coat in NC. Hubby was sick part of the day, but it was a nice relaxing time as well and I look forward to reading about your Holiday.Today, I am excited to bring to you another post of me styling this wonderful jewelry by Mother and Daughter team, Sylca Designs. This burgundy shell layered necklace caught my eye and as I continued to look, I kept coming back, as  i love the bold look and of course, the color,  made from eco-friendly material, in this case, shells. It is a piece that can be worn dressy, in such a manner that i am sharing here, or just as easily with jeans and a blouse, a bit more dressed down. The earring match, and they have the weight of metal but are made just like the necklace.

IMG_9836Hello ladies!Happy #Turningheadstuesday ! Are you all planning for the Holidays? This year we go to my sisters and will be celebrating the Thanksgiving Holiday with her. We bring the pumpkin pie and wine. Lots of memories with Thanksgiving. Usually growing up it was the big table, the little table, lots of food,  getting tired, and football. Hearing my dad during the Steelers Game a few blocks down the street, Beautiful fall weather. Food. More food.

IMG_9734Hello ladiesI am loving this new sweater dress of mine, I found on none other than Poshmark , Banana Republic for $20. :-) I came across Marissa, of Marissa T Designs on Instagram, and we decided it would be great to do a collaboration together. The first pieces I saw were very ocean-sea oriented with light aqua-blue almost see through crystals in varied shapes in necklaces. I also loved  the smaller daintier pieces from silver chains that caught my eye. I like both styles, the larger statement necklace and layered look with tinier pieces that shine.  But before I continue, let me get this out of the way. I've been a musician in life, and I can't go on until I acknowledge my outfit's color... ( an electirc guitarist's most beloved song of all time.... NOT! ) but we do all know those first three chords!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Z6Ar814t8Hehehe..NOW, MOVING ON...

IMG_9509Hello Ladies! Welcome to #turningheadstuesday fashion #linkup!I wanted to put a look together that represented part of my personality. I love vintage or vintage looking items, and found these super cool laced up leather vintage boots in Asheville last year. I love the cognac color and pointed toe and wanted to play on that color scheme and vintage look.  I thought apropos for the fall season.  Yes, another brooch of mine! :-)
