My mom is coming soon to visit in Charlotte, as my sister and I both live here, she in the South area, and us in the North. My little niece Makaila, who started kindergarten this year, will enjoy seeing Grandma too. IMG_6884IMG_6881Hello ladies and Gents,I hope everyone had a nice weekend, as I want to know where the time went! I am still trying to adjust to Daylight Savings time, and wake up feeling tired. My boy Gibby just turns around from being in his tight little ball of fur, to staring at me knowing it's F-O-O-D time! Truffles has joined in the "Morning Stare Down", and I laugh and get out of bed. As far as weather goes,  we have had some usual record temps here in Charlotte with a few days in the 80s! Charlotte, has in the past gone from Winter to Summer, but this is just one of those spells everyone is experiencing ,and we will be back to normal temps. Today I decided to show you an outfit with pattern mixing. I have done this as a very subtle way in the past, HERE with stripes and a leopard print, and today I am sharing one of the more popular way to mix patterns, floral and stripes.

 IMG_6948Hello Ladies (and Gents)I hope you enjoyed your weekend. It was a pretty relaxed one, running errands, cleaning the house and putting up decor/pictures as my mom will be visiting my sister and I in a few weeks. I don't think I am the only one runs to Target, and Lowes for "supplies" when company comes to visit. In the Spring, I like to plant a few flowers in the yard, but I am no gardener!Today I was in the mood to share with you a more "casual" look with a light wash jean, boyfriend style, my pink and tan snakeskin skip on shoes, and this navy pinstripe peplum top I scored for $15 on Poshmark. Gone are the days one wears "sweatpants" for a casual look, or dressing down. Let me put it this way, if "sweat" is in the description of the garment, I am NOT going to wear it! :-) I will wear yoga pants and nice sneakers but I am more apt to wear jeans if I am dressing down or want a more casual look. I dress, as I am sure most of you do, according to mood many times, and this was a day I just wanted to relax and be casual. I am already thinking of ways to wear my hair up when the weather gets too warm. Love the chignon, but for this look, a long ponytail, curled would do the trick.

Today I am interviewing my blogger friend, and fellow Over 40 Fashion Compatriot, Jill, of Grown Up Glamour.
The first thing I wanted to know was what her definition or take on glamour was.
" Today's styles in the main tend toward a more casual look so I do feel that for many women the ability to add
their own touch of glamour has been lost.
My own definition of glamour is not the movie star version, it is more about knowing yourself and your own style
and projecting this image to the world. I feel as we age it is very important to make the time and look as good as we can."

IMG_9077Hello Ladies!!Welcome back to another edition of #Turningheadstuesday!! I am sharing with you another one of my looks from #NYFW, as I wore this to the #BetseyJohnson fashion show. Perhaps I could have worn a big tulle fluffy pink dress with a corset outer, but thought that just might be a bit over the top for me, so I saw this on Zara and had to have it!  I know I have shown alot of lace outfits lately, but what can I say.. I love fine well made lace and the color was a surprise! On the website, it looked more maroon, which I thought would be lovely, but when I received it, it is a brick shade and I thought, even better!!

I of course, as you have seen enjoy wearing a multitude of styles, lace, shift dresses, white looks, some trends, rompers, boho .I also love vintage or vintage inspired and of course, florals. I probably lean to the romantic side as far as dressing, but enjoy jewel tones with my red hair. Florals have always appealed to me, even as a little girl.
