Teal has to be a favorite color of mine. I bought this velvet jacket, when I was really into velvet, and no it was not the mid 70s. Since I like most of my jackets fitted, I decided to wear this over my grey sweater dress. Putting on this entire outfit is about as comfortable as pajamas as one can get. I dressed it up with some bold gold and teal statement jewelry that actually called out to me from our local Jewel Box’s window.( Perhaps this is becoming a recurring happening with me!) So, of course, I had to buy the matching earrings. Black tights and my comfy shoes, by Merrell complete this ensemble. If you had to add one more thing to this outfit, what might it be? I admit there are not a ton of blue hues in my closet, but was told once, that teal and red hair look quite stunning together, so I experiment.

Location here was at a place called Port City Club, which overlooks Lake Norman. Took a few in the BRRR freezing 28 degree weather, and some inside. The cuisine was delish! And it was only lunch in which I had a pastry directly flown in from Paris..Oo La La! Then this amazing Gooooooood-AHHHH and potato soup with a cream base. So good as I needed something to warm me up, as I left my long johns at home. Lastly, I had a caramel mochachino to end the afternoon.

Jacket:  Ann Taylor Loft ( similar) Hobo leather bag: Hayden Harnett NYC , Sweater dress: Ann Taylor, Necklace, earrings and brooch: Jewel Box: Huntersville.

I recently mentioned that jewel colours are perfect for you and I think I was right!
    Your jewellery is beautiful.
The more teal the better… you can always add a scarf or a pashmina.

Annette, you are very sweet 🙂 Thank you. Ah oh, I am going to need to take a shopping trip and stock up on some blue hues, especially the teal. I have never worn a pashmina, but am up to trying new things/looks. I have a couple of scarves but tend to go for the jewelry, thank you for the ideas 🙂

The color contrast of the teal with your hair is fabulous!! And of course I’m loving the jewelry (oh, please help me I may go bankrupt at Jewel Box). I am so glad that we connected because I love fashion jewelry and when it’s reasonably priced, it’s even more appealing.

Thanks so much Stephanae, you’re so sweet. I think blues and greens look good with red hair, so we can both go bankrupt, you with the jewerly, me adding additional greens and blues into my wardrobe! 😉 I tried to link to this piece, but it was a part of their winter line, so they don’t carry it anymore. I know you will like things they have for spring too.

LOL!! I have a friend with beautiful red hair and I’m going to pass along the link to your blog to her as she’s always fretting over her hair. I love red hair and I read an article some time ago that said something to the effect that the number of people with red hair is significantly decreasing (can’t remember why). But I’m hopeful that whoever wrote the article is wrong.

Oh, I hope us red heads aren’t a dying breed 🙂 Anytime I post from the JB and the item is in stock, I will post the link. Thank you for passing on my blog 🙂

I really love this shade of blue. It’s very subtle and your choice of accessories goes beautifully with your outfit . Still a little chilly to sit outside.

Thanks so much! I am a big fan of teal and other blues, and would like to own more of this color, as well as other blue hues. The jewelry caught my eye, and it was like a gust of wind just “pulled” me into the shop. Another of the Jewel Box’s ensembles. Yes, I am waiting for the weather to get even warmer as I am anxious to sit near the lake. If I didn’t wear the jewelry, it probably would have been a lovely blue floral scarf I would have paired with it.

Thank you Pam! I am a big fan of teal, need more blues in my wardrobe. I wore a teal dress to my brother’s wedding this year, and it was a hit. You know when you see something, and you know it is just YOU? well, that is what I liked about the jacket as well. The jewelry is from a local boutique I frequent, where they know me on a first name basis. They are also very reasonable. thanks again!!
