THT- Styling a Slip Dress- Black and White with a Pop of Pink

I am styling a black slip dress today- with a black and white look and a pop of pink.

Adding that “Pop of color” to your black and white outfit

I get in the mood for a black and white outfit from time to time. I do feel like it is partially unfinished however, unless I add a pop of color!

You know I am a fan of the slip dress. I wore it here in the Fall with a chunky sweater.

I also wore it here with a pullover sweater

Styling it here, with a blazer and scarf for a more dressed up look.

I styled this slip dress on  my latest REEL, if you would like to view that.

Slip dresses are easy and I wanted to style this dress before it got too hot! Nothing like sweat rollin down your back when wearing a dress like this.

Tarshay for the win! I bought this black slinky slip dress last year and found that I got alot of wear from it, with the styling options. It also comes in 7 other colors if you are looking for something other than black.

Black and white is trending, but its also a classic combination that doesn’t get old. However, the brighten up the look, I added this pink Balenciaga scarf , giving it a burst of color near my face. I do try and do this when I am wearing black, as it can be quite stark on ladies with fairer skin. I added the pop of pink with Mac’s Girl Next Door lipstick.

The white eyelet jacket added some texture and I love the contrast here. Of course my most worn pair of earrings in the Spring are these resin Baublebar flower earrings. These sandals are Target, but I don’t see them now. I have found these similar by Steve Madden  with a lower heel, and these similar to the Target ones, by Dolce Vita.

You certainly could add a white blazer to this look, or for a more casual vibe, add a white denim jacket.

Happenings

We have been enjoying eating out on the deck now- it’s that time of year! Hubby “broke in” the grill, and I have been hounding him to make smoked salmon, as I bought him a smoker last year  . Went to an adoption event, Pups on the Patio, in Charlotte, and had a good time just petting the pups and enjoying a cocktail or two with our Mediterranean meal. I’ve been cravin some Falafel!  I also have been itching to go on the Lake, so we took our paddleboard and kayak out. I love it.

Love the sleek texture of this silky dress contrasted with the eyelet jacket. Adorable. The pink in the neckerchief is the perfect pop of color. My slip dress arrives on Friday. Been tracking my Weight Watcher points in anticipation!! Can’t wait to see if I can wear it.

Hi Shelbee! Yes, they are great to wear in the Spring! Summer, you gotta watch the sweat stains. I always add a bit of color to black and white.

Love this look on you, Jess! It is so chic, and the bright pink scarf is a gorgeous touch. Black and white with a pop of color is one of my favorite combinations and a go to for me. So glad the weather is right for enjoying your newly freshened patio. Enjoy you week and thanks for sharing!

Classy and classic! That is what I like about black and white. I haven’t been wearing my neckscarves and keep wondering if I should donate them. I love the look but then I don’t like having something around my neck…
