Trending Now: Yellow!

IMG_7201

I wasn’t so sure when I bought this yellow top that it would work with my complexion. Some yellows can make one look washed out, or dull. I do love the trend and have seen some pieces on the runway I absolutely adore. I decided to go full on with this bright yellow lace skirt, Besides, this is one trend I can get behind!

Here are some of my other favorite yellow looks currently on the runway and elsewhere:

michael-kors16

This is so beautiful, I would wear this in a heartbeat. If you  ARE Michael Kors, or KNOW Michael Kors and wanted to give this skirt for me to model, use the contact page ! ( wink**) Love the look of this sheer midi skirt with what looks like fresh yellow flowers sewn on!

chloe-rs15-1003

This unqiue Chloe embroidered mustard yellow is gorgeous with the detailing and flowy shape. Love it with the trendy nude lace up gladiators.

naeem-khan-spring-2015

Of course you all know me and this lace white and yellow Valentino dress is something I would absolutely wear, the romantic look and sheerness add to the flow and beauty of this yellow gown.

On to reality, I created a monochromatic yellow look with a soft yellow cardigan from Loft, a brighter lace pencil skirt from Ann Taylor and added some soft colors with the floral shoes. Soft pinks, green, yellow and coral in the floral shoes adds a touch of pattern and color. The cream statement necklace breaks up the monochromatic look as well.

Do you share in the love for this “yellow trend”? How do you wear yellow this season?

I am really in love with yellow this year too but somehow it is pretty hard to find the right yellow dress for myself. Yours are very cute!

Thank you Grace! It is a hard color, this is 2 pieces and I like the paler yellow near my face as it isnt as harsh and then the brighter yellow in a skirt. You will find something I am sure! Hope to see you tomorrow! xx

I know exactly what you mean about some yellows not working. It’s such a tricky colour for people to wear. On me acid lemons – think lemon curd – just make me look ill and jaundiced! But pale yellow is actually rather lovely and fresh. We went out to dinner on Saturday evening and I wore a pale yellow cardigan over a black/grey/white wrap dress and it just gave it a zing. Once the blog is up, I’ll do a post on it!

You look the epitome of Spring. The yellow tulips are still out over here and you remind me of them. They’re one of my favourite flowers.

I too fell in love with that Kors skirt when I saw it but boy, I think they could have styled it differently. A stunning skirt with a plain shirt. The model looks as if she’s wearing a shirt that belongs to her boyfriend – hence the too long sleeves – and that she’s just woken up, realised she’s late for the show, grabbed his shirt to put on, legged it to the venue, leapt into the skirt and down the runway with narry a breath in between!

Cute floral shoes, by the way.

Thank you ! I decided to wear the pale soft yellow cardi against my face and upper body as per it is better against my complexion. This is why the brighter yellow is worn on the bottom as a skirt. 🙂 I love tulips, thank you for thinking of me.
I love the skirt MK, but would certainly have paired it differently with a feminine blouse, very basic and fitted, perhaps white as to let the skirt shine! I agree not my favorite pairing with the button down. Ha~ I can only wear a 1inch heel as my muscle illness does not permit a heel anymore ( about me pge) so I need to live vicariously through others there!

I wouldn’t have thought to pair the yellow sweater with the skirt but it looks fab! (then I hit myself on the head, and think, of course, then it’s like a dress!) jodie

I need to have the right shade of yellow and even then I need to be in the mood for it.

I do love that transparent floral skirt. But maybe with a slip underneath.
