Turning Heads Linkup -Soft Surroundings – Fall Collection- Plaid Dress and Snakeskin Boots

Happy Turning Heads Tuesday friends!

I am excited to share with you a look today from Soft Surroundings. I posted the Anais Maxi Dress and Slip as part of their Pre-Fall Arrivals, and now have several looks to share with you from their Fall line. Today, this plaid rust and brown dress, the Dorset Dress with a drop waist ,just caught my eye, as I don’t have a lot of plaid in my closet, and it was time to remedy that!  Why not do some pattern mixing with my shoes, as I fell in love with these  Snakeskin boots.

Well it was a busy weekend as far as blogging photo shoots go. We had lots of wind and rain during the week, had a power outage for 7 hours on Thursday, and then I got my hair done, so I couldn’t do photos until the weekend. It’s ok, we always make a day out of it. A great excuse to go out to lunch. We headed into “Uptown” had a fun photo shoot, and went to our favorite wine bar, ” Wooden Vine” for lunch and a glass of vino. I had a scrumptious med bodied Washington Cab, and the best veggie flatbread I ever ate! I’m kind of a connoisseur

We went to see “The First Man” about Neil Armstrong, it was pretty good. A preview showing an unrecognizable Christian Bale, in the movie, “Vice” looked interesting, but tarnished the image I have of the hunk I had a crush on in “American Psycho.” 🙂

My Outfit and Pattern Mixing

I have been a fan of animal prints and have quite a bit in my closet. I love the neutral print and the gold, brown tones in these pointed toe booties were love at first sight! I thought they were kind of rocker chic that appealed to me. As I continue blogging throughout the years, one thing I can say is, that I take more fashion risks and have learned more about styling as time goes on.

The brown tones in the dress would be a fun pattern mix with the colors in the booties. If you are wondering what you can wear with those leopard or snake skin booties, think of them as a neutral and they will be a versatile addition to your closet. The Leena booties are made in Brazil and the construction is wonderful. I will be wearing these with many looks this season.

Soft Surroundings has so many stylish boot options, I love the textured look of these Moab Booties, the rich military green color and narrow fit  of the Lucky Brand Kitrie Boot style.

The metallic look of these Seychelles Wake Up Booties in Rose Metallic are so pretty as well.

The gold amber hoop earrings were the perfect complement to this look. All of these warm tones just warms my heart! You all know Fall is my season, or should I say my jam!

I used pattern mixing in yesterday’s look – Karina Dresses All Work, All Play collection. Check it out!

If you missed my post on Fall Trends for 2018, read it here. Plaid and snakeskin are two of those things.

I always liked plaids and am happy there is so much of it out there lately! This dress is perfect for fall. Love the dropped waist and how the plaid pattern is turned on the diagonal for the skirt. The booties look fab with it! You have a great knack for mixing textures and prints.

This drop waist plaid dress is an absolute beauty! The colors are perfect for Fall and love the zipper detail at the front. Power outages are a blessing in disguise sometimes because it’s a forced down time. When our internet went down a month or two ago, I felt relieved that I had an excuse to stay away from my iPad. Then again, getting back to it is a drag. I hope you are having a great day so far!
