Hello Ladies,
First I want to thank you for the well wishes last week. We had a great time at my relatives house and the weather was just right most days. It was a nice change of pace and visit. I’m trying to get a bit caught up on the blog, as when I take a break, I do like to stay off the computer and only post on certain socials, giving me some “time off”. I styled a more casual look yesterday and wrote about how a piece of statement jewelry can amplify a casual look. I have chosen one of my favorite pieces of bling to style this dressy look today.
We have had a busy week with travel and then Sunday nights in June we attend the Symphony here in Charlotte. We enjoy going to the Pops as the conductor has a great sense of humour. We saw “Hollywood Nights” themes from shows and truly enjoyed it. Besides, we bring food and wine.. so what’s not to enjoy? On down days, I have been watching the new Twin Peaks as I was glued to the first 2 seasons years ago. I even did my final project in Music Technology ( Minor) on arranging the theme to Twin Peaks.. 🙂 I mentioned yesterday I went to a wedding shower, as my nephew is getting married in the fall, and was thrilled to not have to play some of the cheesy games, like “toilet paper wedding dress…”
Now.. on to my look.
Bold or colorful pieces of jewelry can really brighten or take an outfit to the next level. I bought this last year on Zara and loved the style and colors of this necklace, as it can be worn with most outfits. I have always liked pink and thought I would wear this sparkly necklace to bring out the pink and bring other colors to a more neutral skirt. The midi skirt from Ann Taylor has a blush pink tone and subtle snakeskin print to it. I decided to reiterate the print in my pink/brown snakeskin block heels.
If you are looking for a statement necklace, try looking for one with many colors as the options then are greater for wearing it with anything. Bold chunky pieces are great to wear with something that otherwise is delicate or light providing a dichotomy in style. There used to be a line of thought that you should only wear necklaces that suit your frame. If that were the case, I would never wear big, chunky necklaces! There are no rules, so if you like a delicate necklace, go for it. I do enjoy wearing some bolder statement necklaces to really either bring out color or make it the focal point of the outfit.
What kind of statement necklaces do you wear?
Outfit details: Top- Ann Taylor ( poshmark, like this), Skirt (Ann Taylor, love this), Shoes: ASOS, necklace: ZARA, clutch: GIGI New York.
I have been feeling better as of late, probably due to stabilizing on my medication.
