12 Feb Valentine’s Day Ideas
I don’t know about you,but I am not exactly into the over-priced Valentine’s Day dinner, where at any other time, the $80 meal per person, might be $35.Okay, am exaggerating. However, I do like a good bottle of Malbec, Tempranillo, or some other delicious dry red to make the evening. So, I say celebrate either the day before Valentines, if you want to go out to eat somewhere special, or get a very good bottle of wine, cheese, crackers, then stop at Whole Foods to bring home some other yummy appetizers. The other great thing you can do, if you don’t go for the meal out of V-Day, is have the above, and do a lovely chocolate fondue with fruit. Buy some excellent chocolate, and then fruit in season, and dip away!
Now for some gift ideas, we don’t go crazy, but I like to give surprises. I already bought some shorts for my hubby at Macys. He claims that if I didn’t buy him clothes since we met, he would be looking like a vagabond! Ok, not that bad, but I do buy him things I like to see on guys. Can’t get him into sweater vests, but when we first met, it was either a uniform of polos, or t-shirts. So, wearing some of these nice clothes is growing on him! ( in a good way!) Nevertheless, here are some ideas besides going out to dinner you could add to the evening of chocolate, excellent wine, and cheese. I also love getting cards, not e-cards, but good old-fashioned paper cards, so if you are crafty, you could make your significant other a homemade card, as not everything has to be bought, just think of something that shows they are special. If you order from Amazon, and have Prime, like I do, items ship in 2 days. You will have to forgive me, how the picture of Christian Bale got there, I do not know!
Gifts: Flowerbomb Perfume, or any other favorite ( I also like Coach Poppy), Earrings: 1928.com or Etsy for a more custom set, Cuisinart Fondue Set ( a way to a man’s heart: you could also try the beer/cheese fondue). And any homemade card or meal, Bottle of wine: Mabec Uno, Red Dome Satchel ( The Limited)
