Turning Heads Linkup – Warm Knit Sweater Dress with Knee High Boots

Morning friends!

Knee-high boots are big this season, and although my most favorite are booties, I love a knee-high boot with a midi dress. I am wearing this rust knit dress from Anthropologie and paired it with my Jambu Chai boots. If you missed yesterday’s Satin Holiday Look, read the post here.

Outfit

I told you I love a good sweater dress! This one is a few years old and I fell in love with the knit design and color. This is lighter than the red sweater dress I wore on the blog recently but perfect for NC Fall weather. You just can’t beat that warm, snuggly feeling you get wearing one.  This dress is from Anthropologie, the boots are from Jambu, and I received this Nordstrom leopard scarf as a gift last year. Did you do much shopping on Black Friday- Monday? At home, in a robe or comfy setting? I bought nearly all of my gifts online, as I am just not physically able to walk around the mall and shop anymore. I have a few things on my list, and wouldn’t you know it, nothing I  pick is on sale! I would see 25-30% off anything, and expect to see an exclusion that read- Except for you Jess. Those 2 items are from a “New Collection” and they aren’t on sale! I have that kind of luck, but cie le vie, what can you do? 🙂

We went to one of our favorite stops here where we took the pictures. Lots of Fall leaves, cute houses, and a friendly neighborhood. I enjoy making photoshoots more of a day of it, as we go to lunch after the pictures are taken. Beer is my hubby ( photographers) reward!

Giving- It’s So Important to Give.

When at our hang-out The Cottage, they had a tree with pictures/cards of doggies. I chose “Thor” as I loved his smile. By choosing the card, the back tells me what we need to buy for him. Dog treats, bed, toys, collar, leashes, dog food.. then we bring all of his items back to The Cottage, to be delivered to him. I was so excited to do this! He is such a cutie!

Growing up, my mom and dad would take us kids to Kane Hospital where we would take patients to the chapel and back. I enjoyed this time as a kid, and feel its so important to share and give to others.

Copper is a wonderful color on you, Jess! And the outfit is fabulous.

Awwww…., Thor is going to be a lucky dog! My giving method is to crochet blankets for Project Linus. They are given to children in need. It is required that the blanket be handmade so that children can be told the blanket is made especially for them. It is for emotional support as much as protection from the cold.

Wow, that outfit is just gorgeous on you! That is such an elegant sweater dress and you do such a beautiful job pulling pieces together, Jess. And that satin dress yesterday–love!! Mustard is my thing! I have done most of my shopping online, but I do hit the mall to check things out. I especially love to go into Williams Sonoma.

I love the doggie donation idea. But I’ll bet you wanted to bring him home! The shelter is always so hard for me as I want to adopt them all. Our newest baby, Lulu, is such a fun addition to our family!

Enjoy the holiday season, my friend.
    xx Darlene

Hi Darlene! thankyou! I really do love a great sweater dress. This is not as heavy as the red one I shared. I love William Sonoma too, great items! I really did want Thor, and would have a tough time volunteering at the shelter as I would want to take them home too! Oh, I need to look and see your Lulu! I look forward to giving the items to the shelter for Thor, we found a really cozy bed at Home Goods!

Leopard print looks so good with rust orange. I did most of my shopping on Black Friday from home. Just need some stocking stuffers and I’ll be good to go!

I have the same boots in brown, and they are so incredibly comfortable! Also, I choose not to shop at the mall—why bother when there’s online shopping? 😉

Thanks so much for the feature Jess! I’m a big fan of sweater dresses too, they’re so comfy and cosy. The weather is dreadful here so I just want to snuggle up in cosy knitwear. I love the brown with leopard print – I have a scarf just like it!

Yes, I bet there is something. There is a giving tree at the church, but I saw this tree with all of the dogs faces, and couldn’t resist wanting to help Thor. Thank you! the bag is Rebecca MInkoff 🙂
