Wrap dress in Black

Karina Gala wrap dress

Hello Ladies

THis is one of those LBD. Yes, we all have a few in our closets, and I think what I like most about this wrap dress is the sweetheart neckline.

I know I showed you a wrap dress a week or so ago but I love the sweetheart neckline and the 3/4 sleeves on this LBD.It is a Karina dress and I purchased this one from my friend, Bella of The Citizen Rosebud.  I read a few places on how to manage the wrap dress without putting on an unwanted “show”. There are those with sewing skills, I am not, who can sew those little tiny snap buttons on down the side. Otherwise, one can  use a safety pin or decorative pin , safety pin underneath, wear a lace slip, or just go with it, and hope it isn’t too windy of a day!

I was in the mood for black .Although it is reminiscent of my college days, where I  wore mostly black with black pants or leggings and  my choice of band t-shirt, ( preferably Metallica at the time) I still have that image in my head but I now wear black in a very different way. Since I do wear a lot of color, every now and then I like the absence of. So, where were we…

Step one, in not getting frustrated with your wrap dress:

1. Know which end is up, and where the belt  is.

2. Put the belt  through the hole of the side of your dress, and wrap it around as needed. Some wrap dresses are such where you can create an empire waist, others, the tie ( belt) can be brought down, like I did. I prefer to show the waist area.

3. Use the aforementioned method of pining etc the dress closed.

I have to say, with black, I do like to always add a bit of color, so my wine leather Rebecca Minkoff bag came with me, and a red maroon brooch and 1928 vintage inspired necklace is also worn. I took the black and added a bit o’ bling with the earrings.

I also want to mention a few things. I am going to do a post or series of posts on how to shop smart on-line. I probably buy 95% off my clothes, shoes, jewelry on-line and find ways to get deals. I would love to share with you. I do not have the ability health wise to shop in stores for hours, so I do it in the comfort of my room in my robe.

In addition,, my friend Dawn, of Fashion Should Be Fun, is having her link up today, I believe. So please show support, and if possible, join her on her blog for her 1st link up party.

Have a great weekend XO

Jess

Hi, Jess. This wrap style dress is beautiful on you. I’ve been thinking of getting one, but I don’t have your slender legs so they don’t look that great on me. Hope you have a nice week!

    Jess,
Love the wrap dress on you and am glad that you gave good advice of how to wear it. I have a problem when the wrap is on the skirt and if you walk with a bold stride, then OOPS…
you look wonderful in black, and I should have guessed that. but the absence of color does more to emphasize your glorious hair and pretty bling. ( I am partial to bling!)
I also like to buy online, but since I am a stones throw to some fabulous consignment stores, that is my preference, but when i was in suburban New york I mostly bought online,
Look forward to more posts of this.
    Feel well.
    xx, Elle
