15 Apr Easter Dresses and My Picks- Have a Happy Easter!
Dresses for Easter
These are some of my dresses from the past, that I have worn on Easter. You all know I love florals, and dressing in Springtime prints and colors and these dresses were just right to celebrate the Day. It was always fun to get a new dress for the day.
I truly looked forward to Easter and I swear the Easter Bunny hid my basket until my 20’s! Just before I moved out of the house. ( Moms! ) Milk and white chocolate were my favorites ( and still are) .
What I enjoyed were some of the traditions I talked about here on the blog. When we were younger (I have 3 siblings) we would make up a Ukrainian Easter basket ( read about what goes into one here) and have the basket blessed by the Monsignor at the Ukrainian church. I remember thinking how grand the church was with it’s aqua blue steeples. Later, we would have Easter dinner and in between we would color eggs. Good memories of those times!
My hubby and I , have been to a Sunrise service, which was also very special and outdoor by the Lake.
Easter Hats
Easter hats used to be very popular and in 1933, an Easter Parade, made them a staple. Back in the 1870’s however, the Easter Parade made the “bonnet” a common style. The song, “Easter Parade” by Irving Berlin, made it even more popular.

Easter, when I was growing up, was about dressing up- dressing to the nines to show respect.
Speaking of “adornments” I went to look at the Iris Arpfel collaboration with H&M yesterday, online. It dropped at 10 am, at 10:30 everything was sold out! Well, that speaks volumes!

Dresses are one option, but this white skirt and pastel pink blazer also make a smart look. Wear what you feel good in!
These are just a few examples of what I would wear on Easter, this Sunday. I have shared on the blog before, (and you can read on an above post), my mother instilled in us, various Easter traditions that we grew up with.
