Yes, it is that time of the year, where either you are scrambling to get the turkey and all of the fixings together, or you are going to a relative’s house to visit and bringing some wine and side dishes. Yea! We are the latter this year, so we are out to find some great bottles of vino and pick up some of my husband’s favorite corn souffle at our Fresh Markets for tomorrow. I saw this top on Ebay and quickly fell in love.
I love the “Mad Men “Joan” style with the tie at the neck, buttoned demure sleeves and the rich green color. It spoke to me, as do many of my clothes that I find worthwhile, the ones that remain in my closet and are worn year in and year out. I loved this vintage looking top, and wanted to pair it with one of my favorite skirts, this tweed black mini skirt, I bought at Loft, again years ago. I am finding more finds on Ebay or Poshmark, and pair slightly more expensive pieces or handbags with less expensive other pieces. I really loved that show and miss it! Loved the characters.
I told my dad I saw this as a “Joan” top from Mad Men, and we both agreed tht I did not have the volumtious figure she has , so the red hair, green top, and style is where that ends. I needed more green in my closet, and have added more pieces this year as time goes on. This is a rich green and can be very versatile n one’s closet
The shoes, as you have seen me wear, have scalloped edges and a bow on the top.
If you were a character in Mad Men, who would you be and why?
Enjoy your Holiday, and Have a Wonderful time with family.
I will be posting tomorrow, so if you want to stop by, or Friday feel free 🙂
