Hello Ladies

It is that time of year, where we can go and listen to summer concerts. I love sitting on the lawn and just kicking back with a bottle of wine, or other beverages, just enjoying an acousitc guitar player. This is my guitar from many years ago, a Taylor 412, when I went to teach in the South. I had just come out of college, and worked in an area with unfortunate conditions. I had to travel to two different schools, and was put in a trailer when the heat was above 90 and the air conditioners wouldn’t work. I had virtually no supplies, and we are talking instruments here!! I can remember the tambourine having a big, old, punched hole in it, and the marraccas missing their “shake” so to speak, no beads inside to make the sound. So, I bought this guitar and brought it to work in order to sing songs. Let’s just say it didn’t work out. However, I did teach at other schools where I enjoyed teaching music immensely and later decided to teach guitar in studio.

I thought I would “restyle” my Karina Dress in Blue Feathers in the Audrey style, by picking a color that would stand out with the print. I bought this pretty, green cardigan, added some newer rustish-tan colored floral sandals by Clarks, some blue hoop earrings, and an antique greenish-blue necklace. There are many ways to re-style this dress, this is just one way I worked with bringing out the colors in the dress, as their are some brownish tan swirls throughout as well. Hope you enjoyed!

Dress c/o Karina Dresses, Cardigan ( Loft, older), Shoes: Clarks Artisan Sandals, Earring hoops: Jewel Box ( older), Necklace ( 1928), clutch : Treesje Oceano Crossbody ( 2013 line)

Over on the side bar, I have 2 areas that you can click on for Karina Dresses, in which I make a small commision, if you are interested

Have a great day!!

We love summer concerts too – they are so relaxing. I really like how you buttoned up your pretty green cardigan to almost turn the dress into a skirt.

Jess, I love the styling you did on this! I just ordered that same fabric in the Megan, in hopes of wearing it to a summer wedding. (We have something else in common: red hair! Mine’s not as red as it once was, but I still count myself in the club.)

I am sure it will look stunning on you! I loved the colors. I have only the Audrey thus far, as I am an “inverted triangle” slightly broader shoulders, and narrow everywhere else. The Megan I think was one I could wear…. I would love to see yours on! 🙂 Glad you like the styling, jess xx
