11 Jun Martinis: Shakin’ and Stirred :Wearing My Red Dress
Hello Lovely ladies,
Well again it has been a nice sunny day here in Huntersville, NC. Sunny, and about 90 degrees. I don’t usually go to the mall, as I think the last time I really liked malls was when I was a teenager. I find myself to be more efficient and comfortable at home, shopping on-line. However, we decided I would try on a skirt at Ann Taylor, and look around a bit, while my husband entered The Drop Off Zone. This is that area that husbands frequent while their wives shop. There are sections of the mall devoted to this: large screen tvs for when football season is in play, Borders Books for those times my husband wants to read tech manuals ( yawn!) or magazines. He thought it would be much more productive for him to be able to get lunch and do his work on his laptop at Firebirds Restaurants while waiting for me. So, by the time I got there, he had eaten his meal.
After I was done trying on clothes, I thought I would meet him there and we would sit outside and have a few drinks. They make THE best martinis and today is $5 drinks, so I knew I was craving a pineapple martini, in which a large jug with vodka and pineapple sits for 21 days, and lets the alcohol sit with the pineapple. Oh, my! So, good. On the way to sit outside, an older man was staring at me ( hubby told me) and he put his finger in the air as to summon me over to him. Strange, I thought. So, as we were making our way out to the outside porch, I stopped, only to hear the line, ” You look very familiar to me…” Oh no, I thought, waiting for ” Do you come here often ” to be the next words uttered. He said he thought he knew me, ( no) and asked who my significant other was, it being my husband of course. Then he proceded to tell me that he was a film maker that moved here , and he used to work for Francis Ford Coppola. Probably Francis Ford Kopolla.. or perhaps he had a vivid imagination… I had this desperate need to get out of there, and I just suddenly burst out, ” Oh, our table is ready outside” when in fact, there was no waiter out there, but the man was making me uncomfortable…
So, on to the delicious martinis, Firebirds, a chain around the country, has a $5 Martini day and I had a pineapple, then later the Queen City Berry martini with a berry vodka, Chamboard, and something else which I am sure added to the fruity, cold, delicious taste. We then decided to get pictures of me in my latest Karina dress, the Audrey, in Vibrant Blooms. I love the red, as you know I am a fan of red, and florals, so this was just the dress for me. Overall, it was a lovely afternoon.
…and introducing my hubby!
Have a Great day!
