My Christmas Decor and Holiday Outfits

Morning Ladies!
Well, I am writing this post on a Saturday, as I am “hunkered down” in my house for the next several days due to a winter storm. The mountains obviously get more and often times we are warned of the “Blizzard of ’18” when we would get only a few inches. We did get some snow, but it has mainly been ice, not so good!  So, what’s a girl to do when the Christmas Holiday is near, and we may be trapped inside for the weekend? Decorate the house, finish the tree, and have hubby finish the lights. I am also sharing some of my favorite Holiday looks from the blog.

Christmas at Moms

I spoke to my mom yesterday and we are all quite excited for everyone to come to her house for Christmas. My 2 brothers, sis in law,my sister Sue, Makaila, my niece, ( You met her here on this post for Karina Dresses) and Baby Aedan. There will also be 4 dogs! I love a full house with all of my siblings there, and we now have the fun of seeing Aedan, who is 1, tear into gifts!

I always get excited for Christmas, I think the only thing that has changed, is that now I can drink the “big girls drinks”, and that I don’t wake up at the crack of dawn anymore! My sister-in-law and I are making the White Christmas Margaritas, as last year, we made a special Cranberry Proscecco Holiday cocktails. It is a tradition now.

The puppies get presents too, if you missed my Pet Holiday Gift Guide, have a read! I get a kick out of the Christmas Chaos in the morning, with a baby that is now walking, 4 dogs with their noses in stockings, and family opening gifts.

We will be playing “Sneaky Santa” as I got some great gifts when we were in San Fran and Wine Country. The budget for Sneaky Santa is $25, and my brother and I joked, that we all can’t get a bottle of wine! ( those are kind of easy to spot!)

We will spend some time there and I look forward to the festivitties! My Mom always said she doesn’t NEED anything and not to buy her gifts, but all of us, as siblings, ignore her anyway! We are going to get her something!

My Decorations

One of my favorite things to do is decorate the tree. We collect ornaments and I try to find something that is a memory of the year- this year being a glass ornament, hand painted with the Golden Gate bridge. ( A surprise gift for hubby) . We have ornaments from all of the years I taught as a music teacher, and students giving me music ornaments. We have woodland animals that I fell in love with in Asheville, ornaments from our childhood, our first house.. etc.

I love Old Fashioned Santas, and have been given them as gifts. Jim Shore, an Americana Artist, is one of my favorite from my collection.

Gibson and Truffles stockings! Why the dog is green I don’t know.. maybe too many cocktails? These are some adorable stockings too.

These are the two Jim Shore Santas. I love both- the garland Santa and the Woodland Santa.

Willow Tree Nativity Set

Christmas Santa and Bear Santa greeting guests in the Foyer.

Hubby did the lights! I love the Arbor!

We have a wreath on our door we have to hang.

I love this wooden carved wreath we bought a few years ago at Target.

Holiday Looks

I’ve put together some of the Holiday looks I have shared on the blog. Cream and gold, LBDs, brocade, red, velvet. I just love dressing up for the Holidays. You will see another Holiday look tomorrow for Turning Heads Tuesday. So stay tuned!

I am probably going to wear this on Christmas Day. Since this pic, I bought some black lace ankle socks I think would look great with this look or I could wear with patterned tights. Read about this outfit HERE.

You could pair this with some faux leather tights if you didn’t want to wear this as a dress.

Ive added a white jeweled button down under this sheath dress for a fancy look. I loved the brocade material. READ POST HERE

Green and Gold with faux fur was a fun look for me with a vintage vibe. READ POST HERE.

I love the mix of gold and cream for the Holidays. READ POST HERE

Can you beat a Little Red Dress? Read post HERE

This chiffon LBD from White House Black Market is a lovely choice. I would add a fur shawl or wrap to it as well. READ POST HERE

Much of my jewelry here has been from thrifting, older from Ann Taylor, or Zara.

Thank you Kellyann! The dress is from Zara I bought a few years ago, I love it too, I prefer a red dress over black for me. I know what you mean as things get so busy this time of year. Glad you like my decor, it is always my favorite thing to do. Aw, well I hope hubby loves the one I bought. xx

Your home looks really lovely Jess. As for the choice of outfits, you put so much thought into each of them in terms of accessories, shoes, handbags etc, they all look gorgeous, especially the velvet number in deep green colour

That green velvet dress is so beautiful and the perfect choice for Christmas. I am so sorry that you’re having such terrible weather. It’s never good to be trapped inside but I must say that this can be great for Christmas decorating projects and baking. I love your portrait and your Christmas decorations. Of course you should buy something for mom! LOL.

That red dress is my favorite – wow!!! Of course all of your looks are beautiful and there’s so much to love. Christmas decorations are always my favorite to see too – I just love the lights and all the pretty colors. We always buy a Christmas ornament when we travel but I think we skipped it this year when we were in San Francisco! I can’t believe it! A weekend inside can be nice, a chance to get caught up on stuff and relax. This week will be so busy for me, I’ll be anxious to relax when it’s over!
    Happy Monday friend!
    xo,
    Kellyann
