In fashion, I love the shades in the family of purple: plums, burgundy, wine, eggplant etc. Often, these colors are considered more fall shades, but I am demonstrating today, how it pairs nicely with black, gold, as a summer maxi dress. The richness in these shades are also colors that remind me of one of my favorite hobbies or past-times, as you know, trying different wines from different regions. I am quite fond of the Spanish varietal, ie. Granache, Tempranillo, and Malbec, but also enjoy a Pinot Nior and Syrah. In the summer, however, I like a bit of fruitiness in my wine. Hello Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. The above quote I thought was quite fitting, for my life, although I today, I will not be getting philosophical, perhaps just reflective. This weekend we took the pups to South Mountain, a beautiful mountain area north of Lake Norman, where we live. Waterfalls, breathtaking views awaited us, along with a tasty picnic lunch.
What I love about Fall, of course the fashion, and also the cool temps and fresh air. I am also a fan of hiking and camping. Being in nature is one of the most calming and relaxing things I love to do. I think it all stems back from my Girl Scout days. There are so many gorgeous mountain areas and state parks in North Carolina, one must take advantage of the waterfalls, the scenery and treks. When I walk in the woods, there is a calm peacefulness, no worries or concerns for that moment, other than to enjoy my surroundings.

Hello Ladies,Today is one of those laid back looks. I do dress up for the most part, but other times I want to look put together without wearing a skirt or dress. I do have jeans that I am fond of wearing, these designer William Rast jeans for example, are soft, and I love the dark wash. I decided I am in love with slip on sneakers. The trend has been around for awhile, and they have grown on me more and more. So, when I saw these Same Edelman peach and olive floral slip ons, I rejoiced knowing they would be in my closet soon! I have another pair of his slip ons in Leopard print and they are very cushioned, which is what I need in a shoe-style and comfort.
