IMG_7132Hello Ladies,Today is one of those laid back looks.  I do dress up for the most part, but other times I want to look put together without wearing a skirt or dress. I do have jeans that I am fond of wearing, these designer William Rast jeans for example, are soft, and I love the dark wash. I decided I am in love with slip on sneakers. The trend has been around for awhile, and they have grown on me more and more. So, when I saw these Same Edelman peach and olive floral slip ons, I rejoiced knowing they would be in my closet soon! I have another pair of his slip ons in Leopard print and they are very cushioned, which is what I need in a shoe-style and comfort.

lorna7 Happy New Year! I imagine you won't be surprised to know that I am not such a party til  the break of dawn type of girl, but still enjoy a fun New Years with some cocktails, earlier movie and watching the ball drop from Times Square.I am looking forward to 2016 and hope it is a great year for Health and hapinness for all of you! TYpically, my SPOTLIGHT ON: Over 40 Series is the last week of each month, but we all know how busy December gets! For the New Year, I hope to share with you new blog goals, a bit more about me personally, as you get to know me more through my blog as well, and new fashion topics.Today I want to introduce  you to Lorna Mai, a blogger friend, from  Color Queen. I am all for color, as surprisingly I used to wear mostly black. For myself, black is too stark against pale skin, so if I do, I like to wear a color close to my face. IMG_9793IMG_9784Happy #turningheadtuesday! LadiesGlad to see you here. I had a good time going out with the pups and hubby , this week and we took photos, even though I thought I was going to be blown away! Who needs fans when the wind is blowing at 65 miles an hour! Well, my hair went  here, there and everywhere. The meal was so good though! It was great to get out and I enjoyed a Malbec with a delicious portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper, pesto,and Guyere cheese sandwich on Chibatta bread. So.. tasty! I love my veggie sandwiches.! I had to laugh though as we were the only ones sitting outside with the dogs at 4:00 in the afternoon. I admit I am a wimp when it comes to wind and cold, but here in the South, it is nothing like my hometown of PA, so I dont complain!

Hello Ladies!I began to create a monochromatic look today, inspired by burgundy or wine shades, but then thought of the color combination I liked together, navy and burgundy. I began with a monochromatic look with the dark burgundy  skinny leggings by Zara, and one of my favorite jackets that I "stole the  stole"  from for my outfit last week. Tweed is one of my favorite fabrics for fall, and this jacket and its feminine shape was my choice of the day. I took out my pointy croc boots, you have seen and I have worn plenty of times so far...

Today I am interviewing my blogger friend, and fellow Over 40 Fashion Compatriot, Jill, of Grown Up Glamour.
The first thing I wanted to know was what her definition or take on glamour was.
" Today's styles in the main tend toward a more casual look so I do feel that for many women the ability to add
their own touch of glamour has been lost.
My own definition of glamour is not the movie star version, it is more about knowing yourself and your own style
and projecting this image to the world. I feel as we age it is very important to make the time and look as good as we can."

I of course, as you have seen enjoy wearing a multitude of styles, lace, shift dresses, white looks, some trends, rompers, boho .I also love vintage or vintage inspired and of course, florals. I probably lean to the romantic side as far as dressing, but enjoy jewel tones with my red hair. Florals have always appealed to me, even as a little girl.
