A Linen Shirtdress Will Always Be Classic for Summer

A linen shirtdress will always be classic for Summer.

Classic Linen for Summer

By now, if you have been reading my posts, you know I am a fan of linen. Its ability to wick away moisture and keep you cool, is enough for me to keep coming back for more and continue to add to my summer wardrobe.

I have a section of my closet devoted to my Linen Love.

I will break out into a sweat when even looking at my polyester or modal garments!

So, as you have seen, I also love a great shirt dress. I styled one last week, IN THIS POST, as a duster, and have worn this blue linen dress over trousers in THIS POST.

Today, I paired yellow and blue for a refreshing summertime look. I have a bit of a thing for lemons and wanted to style my lemon and blue silk scarf as well as the dainty lemon earrings from Ann Taylor. (last year).

I kept the look easy breezy and casual with white leather slides I bought a few years ago. Slides are so easy and comfortable for the summer, there are many styles to choose from.

Most of the time, I will elevate the look with a woven belt over the fabric belt that is provided. I like the contrast over the matching fabric belt.

If you missed some of my linen looks this summer- have a look at a few of these posts:

Life Lately

My mom is enjoying spending more of the summer with us and does not go home to Pittsburgh until August. We enjoyed music “Under the Oaks” as we listened to a rock band play Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, and many of my favorite 80’s bands. (The crowd was a bit subdued though!) Being a musician, when I feel I am one of the only 3 people clapping within a crowded space, it makes me feel bad! They were excellent and I always observe the guitarist and the equipment.

My brother and sis in law also had us over the enjoy the pool this weekend, and it is just so relaxing, even my little Gibson floated on our giant Swan floaty with me. They might be getting used to the water a wee bit!

I love the simplicity of your linen shirtdress and classic accessories. The golden/yellow and blue scarf really sets off the entire outfit.

I love this outfit, Jess! Blue and yellow are one of my favorite color combinations. And the gauzy linen just looks so cool, both literally and figuratively. Glad you are having such a lovely summer with your mom and brother.

Beautiful outfit, Jess. I have never been a huge fan of linen because of the wrinkle factor, but that being said, I do have a couple pairs of pants that I keep for summer, especially if we are going to an event that requires I get out of my jeans and tees. Glad you are able to spend time with your mom and that you’re getting to do some fun things this summer! – Amy

Thank you Amy! I know what you mean. I just iron it before I go out, and then deal with the wrinkles. For me, the cool factor is important. Yes, my brother and sis in law moving here, has been great and we are already spending more time together.
