Trending Now: Safari Prints
Hello all,Another week, another trend! I know I didn't keep up with trends this much growing up. Even now, there are some I like, some I would never wear. This is one of those trends in which I am a fan. Safari prints, jungle prints, whatever one chooses to call them, are in stores everywhere and they are growing on me Just like a large, green leafy print. From bathing suits, to tops and shirt dresses, I love to pair this look with wooden accessories, woven straw clutches, gold, and love either a platform sandal or espadrilles. I have chosen some very pretty pieces that caught my eye when looking at this trend. Perhaps you are wearing an olive green shirt dress, add a safari printed clutch for added pattern or print to add more interest. Hello Ladies!I don't know if you did this, but as I kid, I remember saying, "take a picture, it lasts longer" if someone was staring at me. Kind of funny, given writing and posing for a fashion blog now, isn't it? Well, I am giving permission for one to stare just a bit longer, when it comes to these delightful, creative and very soft stockings sold by retailer UK Company, My Stockings. The material is manufactured in Italy and the designs are hand-printed in Ireland The line is called, "Stop and Stare" and it certainly is a fun way to go about having a tattoo, without the ink or pain!I will tell you something about me you didn't know. First, I love watching "Ink Master", a show highlighting some of the best tattoo artists in the country. I find it to be an art form, as shading, composition, balance and other topics are explored. I thought, wouldn't it be cool to get a red headed pinup girl playing a jazz guitar tattooed on my arm someday? ( a play jazz guitar/red hair) However, the reality is, with a connective tissue disease, and easy bruising, it is not advised.
Hello Everyone, and Happy Monday.I promise you I am not complaining. I am just stating a fact when I say it was 96 degrees when we took these pictures. I am a woman who spends about 10-15 minutes on makeup, having it down to a science and basically figure it is going to melt away on my face by the time we get to take the photos anyway. I love YSL's Eclat Primer, as it does an excellent job of making my foundation ( Dior Nude Air) glide on smoothly and evenly, but as temps get hotter, I use this and a dab of foundation, but find that a lipstick is what holds up for these warmer months. I am going to be featuring shorts this week on the blog, and if you are over 40 and want to wear shorts, just do it! There are plenty of lengths and styles to choose from.Today we went to Childress Vineyards, just my hubby and I , as they do not permit furry friends on the premises, and frankly it was too hot for them. The grounds are beautiful and there was quite a crowd. A duo played "oldies" with guitar and upright bass, in an indoor pavilion, and we enjoyed the peach/strawberry Sangria an ice cold refreshing drink. So good in the summer, I need to make my own!
Hello LadiesHappy Weekend! Well, since the heat is on , I thought it time to put together a list to get one started on some summer essentials. Swimsuits purchases may be made easier by mixing and matching tops and bottoms, or seeing what best suits us. Anyhow, I picked some items that I either have or would be needing for the Summer Months. Although, not particularly fashion, sunscreen is a must! Gone are my days of being a teenager and horrifyingly using baby oil to get a "tan" ( Read: Burn!) With fair skin, or without, sunscreen is essential to keep one's skin healthy . I hope you enjoy my list to get you started with the summer months! These are just a few things to get one started on their summer needs.
Hello Ladies!Glad you are here for Turning Heads Tuesday. Another hot day! I am not complaining, but maybe I need to do a "How to Make Pictures Look Great Even with Sweat Pouring Down Your Back" Post! That is not me today, but I am just preparing for the summer to come. Ha! Today was another score from H&M. They do have some fun fashions this year, and I couldn't resist the rust color. Ok, that and the off the shoulder fashion. And the two slits in the front to add some sexiness and self-imposed air conditioning. I bought this during the Memorial Day weekend sales for $30 shipped.
