Happy Monday Ladies!Ah. A bit of rest and relaxation was just what the doctor ordered! Back from vacation, and well rested, we had an amazing time at the Outer Banks. Much to the dismay of one of the workers at the Loft, we enjoyed bringing our pups to the pup friendly Bed and Breakfast in Manteo. ( lets just say there was some eye-rolling!) when I said we were taking our dogs on vacation with us. I will be sharing pictures from the trip tomorrow and telling you a bit about the Manteo/Outer Banks/Wanchese area in which we stayed, but today I am bringing you this wonderful collaboration with the company, "Uncommon Goods" out of Brooklyn, NY. Hello Ladies!I hope those in the US that celebrated the 4th of July, had a great day! My poor pup, Truffles was up all night as our neighboorhood let of fireworks, then there was a storm! She gets very anxious and shakes. I felt so bad, yet she had to endure 2 nights of this ( Sunday and Monday). Gibson, my boy can sleep through anythingOn to today. I have always liked a Safari look. Not that I am picturing myself out in the African wilderness, hunting wild boar. No, thank you very much. I will be safe in the comfort of my own home wearing outfit #2 the khaki dress I styled differently. I love the khakis, olive greens, rust shades that are so often associated with this style. Last week, I paired this khaki shirt dress, light and airy, with my new espadrilles from Zara, a woven brown straw clutch, and this wonderful jewelry in burgundy by Sylca Designs. I have worked with this mother/daughter team before and they always have such unique and stylish pieces.

I thought since it is a special holiday, and most likely many of you will be sitting with family, friends , perhaps cooking up burgers, food on the grill, I would show my patriotic nature by wearing the traditional red white and blue colors. In the past, I have collaborated with Karina Dresses and this is one of their styles I am fond of . The Ruby , great for an hourglass or an inverted triangle, in my case. Hello LadiesBerries. strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, rasberries, all my favorite fruits and great for making some summertime light dessert recipes and muddled cocktails. In fashion, I love the shades in the family of purple: plums, burgundy, wine, eggplant etc. Often, these colors are considered more fall shades, but I am demonstrating today, how it pairs nicely with black, gold, as a summer maxi dress. The richness in these shades are also colors that remind me of one of my favorite hobbies or past-times, as you know, trying different wines from different regions. I am quite fond of the Spanish varietal, ie. Granache, Tempranillo, and Malbec, but also enjoy a Pinot Nior and Syrah. In the summer, however, I like a bit of fruitiness in my wine.
