Hello All, I hope you had a wonderful weekend.I could not start out  this post without  asking, What Makes You Happy? Or have Pharrell  song playing in the background. Well, I will ask the first question,  but I will neither play a video of  "Happy" or a more apropos generational "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby Mc Ferrin. First, let me say that my hubby makes me happy. My two fur babies: Gibson and Truffles makes me happy. My family makes me happy. These are first and foremost. Some of the small things in life, those small moments make me...

Hello LadiesWelcome back to #turningheadstuesday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. My mom is coming soon to visit in Charlotte, as my sister and I both live here, she in the South area, and us in the North. My little niece Makaila, who started kindergarten this year, will enjoy seeing Grandma too. More on her in another post, as she is like a little mini-me at 5 years old, loving dresses and florals, long hair and jewelry.  My mom is making her rounds to visit all of us for longer periods. I am looking forward to it. I always...

IMG_6978Hello LadiesI hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Easter. .We went to a Vineyard, took the puppies and had a good time. There are a few that allow dogs, and we try and take advantage when it is nice outside. Service was great, as was a new grape, Chambourcin, a dry red varietal that is becoming more popular here. All was well, except for a few overly intoxicated women wanted to dog-nap my puppy Truffles. That is another story for another time. Easter made me think of all of the traditions in our family; Mass, Blessing the Baskets, getting together and I think hunting for Easter Baskets until we were about 25. Ha.  Easter also reminds me of Spring, and today I am reviewing an talking about my dress from Coldwater Creek. When Coldwater Creek approached me about reviewing an item on their site, I was excited as it was a familiar shop and I knew they had some lovely clothes. I was to choose two items from their site and they would send one. I initially chose this lilac blazer with all its embroidered style I thought would look wonderful adding a pretty pastel to white, a gorgeous spring shade to a dress , plenty of options. However, since this was unavailable, I chose to no surprise, a dress! Looking at their on-line site I fancied several dresses, such as the  Table for Two  dress, accentuating the waist and a staple piece. I also liked the printed Lavender Fields dress that was longer which I thought would look smashing for a wedding or just out for an  afternoon lunch.  However, the Floral Mesh Knit Dress caught my eye, in a periwinkle or "serenity' color, I liked the vertical lines in the style of the dress, adding length and giving a lean look to the wearer. The mesh material made the dress very comfortable to wear and also light for warm weather. The pattern was subtle, tiny flowers with stems made the dress look delicate as does the length and flow of the dress. The fit was quite good, if not a little loose, and I am wearing   an XS. I would also recommend a heel, albeit small or higher to give the legs length, continuing with the vertical line. Flats may be fine, but it may also look to shorten the legs as the dress comes inches past my knee. ( But I am 5 foot 9)  I also HAD to share my new fancy footwear with you too! I loved the vintage look to these B.A.I.T shoes, as I love a pretty t-strap and the lavender color caught my attention for spring. Since they have a tiny wedge, they are  do-able for me and fun to wear. Perhaps I will wear this outfit to my next Lindy Hop! :)

IMG_6884IMG_6881Hello ladies and Gents,I hope everyone had a nice weekend, as I want to know where the time went! I am still trying to adjust to Daylight Savings time, and wake up feeling tired. My boy Gibby just turns around from being in his tight little ball of fur, to staring at me knowing it's F-O-O-D time! Truffles has joined in the "Morning Stare Down", and I laugh and get out of bed. As far as weather goes,  we have had some usual record temps here in Charlotte with a few days in the 80s! Charlotte, has in the past gone from Winter to Summer, but this is just one of those spells everyone is experiencing ,and we will be back to normal temps. Today I decided to show you an outfit with pattern mixing. I have done this as a very subtle way in the past, HERE with stripes and a leopard print, and today I am sharing one of the more popular way to mix patterns, floral and stripes.

IMG_6948Hello Ladies (and Gents)I hope you enjoyed your weekend. It was a pretty relaxed one, running errands, cleaning the house and putting up decor/pictures as my mom will be visiting my sister and I in a few weeks. I don't think I am the only one runs to Target, and Lowes for "supplies" when company comes to visit. In the Spring, I like to plant a few flowers in the yard, but I am no gardener!Today I was in the mood to share with you a more "casual" look with a light wash jean, boyfriend style, my pink and tan snakeskin skip on shoes, and this navy pinstripe peplum top I scored for $15 on Poshmark. Gone are the days one wears "sweatpants" for a casual look, or dressing down. Let me put it this way, if "sweat" is in the description of the garment, I am NOT going to wear it! :-) I will wear yoga pants and nice sneakers but I am more apt to wear jeans if I am dressing down or want a more casual look. I dress, as I am sure most of you do, according to mood many times, and this was a day I just wanted to relax and be casual. I am already thinking of ways to wear my hair up when the weather gets too warm. Love the chignon, but for this look, a long ponytail, curled would do the trick.

IMG_6845Happy St Patrick's Day!I had to do a post. Red hair, fair skin, green eyes, Irish. These are some of the traits that make me part Irish. However, some Irish characteristics have eluded me. I do not like beer. Those of you that know me, or have been reading the blog, know that I LOVE wine. I could talk varietals and regions if you'd like, but beer..hmm, not so much! I try. I really do. My husband likes to try different beers and I enjoy the names of some, but the taste, I have yet to find one that I like. Not a fan of hoppy flavors or strong scents. I am not a meat and potatoes girl. I love seafood, fish and chicken. Potatoes are good, espcially sweet potatoes, but that is more Southern than Irish.Follow me on  INSTAGRAM AS I AM OFFERING with other bloggers for some fun SPRING SHOPPING  $800 to NORDSTROM .
