IMG_7477Hello Ladies,I wanted to title this: My Off The Shoulder-Dont-Care-If -I'm-Older-Dress, but decided to keep it simple! :-)I debated about whether I should post my military jacket neutral look today or yesterday, Monday. I like to share the various styles and looks that are fun for me and my interest in wearing a ruched style in a striped dress,  fitted military jacket and cargo pants, white jeans with metallic slips ons or today's trendy look with the off the shoulder floral dress. I have also been buying a few more pairs of pants I have deemed comfortable enough for me to wear, and ones I have been eyeing, the straight ankle trouser.  IMG_7406IMG_7416Hello Ladies.I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day. I myself, am just mom to 2 little fur babies who are a great joy to me and make me smile everyday. My mom just recently spent about 3 weeks with us and we had a great time. Lots of talking, eating and drinking.  By now, if you read the blog, you know one of my favorite past times is going to Vineyards. I enjoy tasting different wines and as the weather gets warmer sitting outside on the wicker couches and sipping Sangria. So, yes, we were at another Vineyard. I truly am snot a snob about anything except coffee, tea and wine. Ha :-) It has rained nearly every day this past week, with severe thunderstorms which make my girl want to hide in the closet. So, today was one of those " I have to take advantage of it" Spring Days, at 80 degrees and sunny. I certainly have other hobbies ( music) but this is a favorite when the weather is just right. Soon it will be Charlotte POPS Symphony Season, yet another place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.Today I am going to share a look that you may say.. Did I read "Corset-like" in the title, was that right? Well, when I went to NYFW last fall, and attended the Betsey Johnson show, I saw a look and idea that I thought may be fun to replicate. Perhaps it isn't for everyone, but I do like to experiment from time to time. Corsets were worn over blouses with skirts and wide leg pants. I thought the look rocked, so this is a bit more "conservative" as the top isn't a corset in terms of lingerie, but a sleeveless corset-like  top that I wear in the summer as is. So, when the idea came to me, I thought lets take a white  eyelet pencil skirt for texture a more proper white button down, and add the  pink floral with the thin ribbon detailed top, ) and pointed pink sling back flats for a fun and romantic style. Side note: caught in drizzle and wind... tough on one's hair! I added my lilac Coach bag for additional spring color.

 IMG_7353Hello LadiesI wanted to share with you the photos of our recent trip to one of my favorite Vineyards, Raylan Vineyards here in NC. Let's see, there are 95 Vineyards in NC so we need to plan where we want to go each weekend! haha. Anyway, I decided to name this post Orange Shift Dress and My Mom's Genes, however I thought the mere mention of Mom Jeans might turn some away. I am speaking of "Genes" here though. My mom has the gift of being able to speak to anyone and striking up conversations with ease. I think I inherited "mom's genes" as we sat on the comfortable wicker outdoor couch with our picnic and '14 Chardonnay I had the task of tasting. I must have this face that makes people feel at ease to open up. We still laugh that after stopping at a rest stop, mom came out talking to another woman we hadn't seen before. We asked her who the woman was, and she said, " Oh, we just started talking in the ladies' room"... See, "mom's genes." We certainly laugh about it, but I think it was passed on to me, and we were able to enjoy speaking to different people at the vineyard about NC wines, puppies, and the like.

 Whew!I know that was a long title ladies, but there is a lot going on today! I host the weekly #Turningheadstuesday #linkup in which I enjoy seeing all of your outfits each week. I am also sharing with you today a review of the Brookline Gladiator sandal from Jambu, a company I had collaborated with recently, and with whom I reviewed the Sugar Sandal. If you missed it, read that review HERE. The Sugar Gladiator has a lower profile than the Brookline, the top straps at the ankle, whereas the Brookline hits higher up on the leg, accentuating the calves....

 IMG_7287Hello LadiesIt has been a busy month. My  mom has come to visit between my sister and I in North Carolina. I live in the North ( Lake Norman area) of Charlotte, my sister the South end.  Bopping back and forth like a ping pong is what my mom wanted, a few days here and a few days there. We have shared some great places and our favorite haunts; I was afraid that mom was going to think all we do is drink wine! Ha. We did go to a "few" wine bars. My niece is 5, and learning the piano, so mom thought she would help her with that. It is quite amusing, as she practices and lands on a whole note, counting out with conviction 2-3-4!! Love it though.

IMG_7099Hello Ladies and Gents,You all know me, at least most of my favorite styles by now. Yes, the floral fantastic profusion has begun! There may be an abundance of florals just ahead as the Spring season is here and the sun decides to emerge for more than a few hours. I do tend to wear many florals, maybe so much by some standards that they should be sprouting from my ears and  between my toes. But I can't say no! Florals are trending now, but I was wearing them prior to the trend, just like to see that I fall in accordance to some trends. My mom is now visiting traveling back and forth from my sister's house to ours, and I have discovered some pictures of when I began my love for florals. Looking through some pictures when I was younger, I was 10 and in a school presentation when I wore a blue floral dress I was quite in love with. Perhaps my obsession with florals began then.  I will have to share some of these images in upcoming posts.

Hello LadiesHard to believe we are in April. There is a fair amount going on around our neck of the woods. April, is as you know, Spring Showers. Not to good for blogger pictures. I suppose I need to find myself a fashionable umbrella, have a go at the 15 minute intervals where it may not rain, or trust on those sunny day reports. IMG_7007IMG_7037Hello Ladies!What do maple, rosewood, and koa wood have in common? Yes, I know these are great woods used in guitar making. However are taking fashion here though. Give up? These are all woods used in the making of some of the JORD watches, particuarly the watches I own. With this review, I chose the Fieldcrest Maple watch, a watch different from the others I own. I typically choose a smaller watch face as I have skinny wrists, however this time I went for the trend of a larger watch face for a different look The Fieldcrest series is considered unisex, so if you are interested in this look or want a slightly larger watchface, this line has that. I want to add another link to this to make it more like a bracelet hanging from my wrist, and was provided with a few extra links..If you are not familiar with JORD, I have worked with them in the past, and reviewed the Cora Koa and Rose Gold Watch, and the Ely Red Sandalwood watch for their darker wood and beautiful watch faces. These watches have a smaller watch face.  JORD is a company that I respect for their workmanship and love the aesthetic look of their watches. With this look today, I wanted a neutral, natural look with texture from the watch, lace skirt and faux snakeskin t-strap flats. ( they are new! )  A bit of color was added to this all neutral look with the pink Balenciaga Rose City Bag adding a soft tone to this feminine look. Read both reviews HERE and HERE.
