I am getting ready to head soon to Asheville, as I mentioned. My nephew is getting married and our family is headed there to hang out for the week in a lovely rented house. SO, today i thought it would be fun to compile some Fall outfit pictures from when I began the blog in early 2014 to this fall. Yes, this Feb Elegantly Dressed will be 4 yrs old! So, have a cup a joe, or a glass of vino and enjoy the read/pics. 🙂
As you may know, through reading my blog, I enjoy wearing dresses and skirts, love textures, (velvet, tweed)handbags, fall colors and layering with blazers, sweaters. This post from Oct 2014 on green and tweed you can read HERE.
I am wearing a flatter cole haan metallic shoe here in this post.
This post was about a great trip we had to the Smokies, which we may be able to visit while in Asheville. We rode the Smokie Mountain Railroad in a 1920s car. I am wearing a burgundy sweater dress with jeweled tone earrings/necklace, black booties and my RM leather bag.
This post was in Fall 2015, when i attended New York Fashion week for the first time. My brother lives there and it was a great experience. You will see these pieces mixed differently for this Fall. I bought this rust lace midi skirt and shell from Zara at the time. The burgundy block heels are vintage.
This post in the Fall of 2015 talks about various tweeds. I have always loved the look and style of tweed as this Lafayette NY 148 rust, olive, colorful tweed blazer shows. I do wear jeans/pants from time to time, and these olive jeans were perfect for Fall.
This post, also Fall 2015, talks about my love for sweater dresses. Ive styled this grey cable knit with a burgundy moto jacket and Over the knee boots. Since I live in NC, as much as I love winter coats, there is more of a need for lighter jackets, and my collection of moto jackets serves me well throughout the Fall. My bag is Kate Spade.
Through reading my blog, you know i LOVE color. This post was Fall 2016. Jewel tones are among my favorites to wear, and Fall shades seem to work well with my skin tone. This jacquard skirt is among my favorite to wear this season.
I wore this Mango dress on the blog, last Fall 2016. The satin rust color immediately caught my eye, and you will see me wearing this again and layering the look. My Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 is a bag I carry frequently this season.
I posted here, a look for Fall 2016, We were in Uptown to enjoy a night out at the opening of a new wine bar we looked forward to. I am wearing a teal velvet blazer, tweed skirt and brown leather Vince Camuto Over the Knee boots. i love velvet and have a bit of a collection of it in my closet for Fall and winter. I hope you look forward to seeing it!.
This post from 2014 is titled, the Day of wine and Roses. You may know this popular jazz tune of yesteryear. I graduated with a degree in Music, and studied jazz, so there may be a mention of it here and there. i love the standards. I also love florals and faux leather- rich tones.
This is just a small sampling of my Fall looks over the years of the blog. I also love wearing faux leather leggings, ponchos, plaid etc. I found looking through the blog, the leather leggings seemed to be worn more toward the winter months, as it can still be on the warmer side even in October here in NC.
If you want to know item specifics for the pictures, you can go to the posts I have linked with each picture. The details of the outfits specifically should be there. Another way of looking at past Fall and Winter looks is to go to the bottom left of the homepage and you will see my “Archives” section. You can choose any month and see the posts for that month.
Thank you, i hope you enjoyed this little Fall retrospect.
Have a great weekend!
