Happy Friday Ladies!I have found myself more reflective over the past 5 years. Maybe that comes with age. I have every good intention of going to sleep some nights at 10 pm, only to roll over and think about 4 billion things that run through my mind, I was thinking last night, how do you find peace in your life? What brings you inner peace?
Is there such a thing as too many florals? No! I say! I suppose I am trying to make up some ground as I am not a gardener, like my mom, who has an enviable backyard surrounded by a beautiful garden with flowers surrounding the house. Instead, I have chosen to wear my florals, and today, I am featuring a dress and sandals by Soft Surroundings.
Morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend.Ah, nothing like a tee-shirt dress. Who says you can't look smart, but dress casual and put together? The tee-shirt dress is AS comfortable as my nightgown, but that would get some funny looks in public! Instead, this Soft Surroundings rose pink tee-shirt dress ( the Laredo Dress) is perfect for a day out running errands, for an outdoor summer concert, or at the beach. This is very casual for me, but in these settings I would wear this for sure. I loved the embroidery on the dress and the midi length as well. You know me. My hair. I joke with my hubby with talk of a morbid sarcastic nature, What would people say about me? "Well, she had great hair!". Kidding, kidding. I had an interesting discussion with my hair stylist the other day. Why do women over 40+ feel that they need to go shorter with their hair?
She stared at me from across the computer screen. Bright red flowers adorned her and the ruffled accented sleeves just made her more adorable in my eyes. I am talking about my new dress! Yes, I was browsing the Zara site as I often do several times a week, and saw this dress. If I keep going back to look at something, with interest, most often it is something that calls out to me. With a plentiful closet, this is how I am buying clothing these days, I HAVE TO LOVE IT- and I love it! and... there were a couple of birthday celebrations over the weekend too.

Looking at my closet, when my mom visited, I realize I have alot of shoes. ( Ok, maybe I have realized this before! ) Many of the shoes have been from blogging, working with wonderful companies like Jambu, Andre Assous and Rockport, among others. But, I have been noticing this trend for this summer-Slides. Just a simple flat shoe with a fabric, leather, straw front makes an easy summer look even easier. I thought i would put together some of my favorite pairs. i haven't jumped the gun yet, as i need a bit more support than some slides have to offer. However, if you aren't worried about that, they are the perfect shoe to just slip in and be on your way to a winery, summer concert, or just out for the day. Keeping your feet cool.
Hello friends,I realize tomorrow is the 4th of July. For a subtle look for 4th of July see yesterday's post. I've also included some links to former year's 4th of July outfits. Happy 4th friends! I am wearing stripes ;-) We tend to stay home and sit on our deck, keeping Truffles and Gibson company, as my girl is very afraid of Fireworks. Mom and I were reminiscing about how the loud booms! at Dormont's Fireworks display,( in Pittsburgh) when I was little would make me cry! We will just sit out on the porch, with the pups, glass of beer or wine and may see some behind the trees, cuddling Truffles as much as we can, as she shakes. I think most pups are afraid of Fireworks!I am not sure how you feel, but I love to find companies that have unique or handcrafted products. When Bellorita reached out to me, I was captivated by the hand carved and painted drawings on their home page. I browsed, looking at each design of the purses and clutches they sold, finally deciding on a koi fish with bubbles represented by interspersed white pearls on the bag.
