Happy Friday! I have always been a "bag" girl. I love beautiful, high quality bags and believe that a bag can add such interest to an outfit, due to color, shape and texture. I do carry mostly designer bags, but many of the bags are quite reasonable, as I have found several of mine on Ebay and another resale site Bonanza. I will do a post in the future about my Spring bags, but wanted to talk about a current bag obsession and trend-The Circle Bag. With a vintage vibe, this fun bag shape is showing up everywhere from the runway to stores.

Happy Tuesday!Yes, we did end up with a Winter Wonderland last week when hubby took these pics. I am not a cold weather person when it comes to taking pics, but couldn't help but want to get photos surrounded by snow. Usually in Charlotte, when they predict snow of 4+ inches, everyone rushes out for bread, milk and toilet paper, and we get a dusting. This time, they were spot on!  The photos are a tad dark, but it was the best I could do in this weather. I decided to do some pattern mixing on the blog today, with 3 patterns mixed, including my new brocade booties. I have also included at the bottom of the post some other posts Ive done with pattern mixing.

Good Morning!I touched a bit on the Pantone Color of the Year in this post, Karina Dress Plum-Pantone Color of the Year,  but today, am giving you an exact example of how I am wearing Ultra Violet.  Ultra Violet, is a kind of mystical color, a color with a blue-green depth that is described "Historically, there has been a mystical or spiritual quality attached to Ultra Violet. The color is often associated with mindfulness practices, which offer a higher ground to those seeking refuge from today’s over-stimulated world." Pantone color institute

Morning Ladies,How do you perceive yourself? Is it the same way others see you? Often times we are hard on ourselves, and I think, as women,  compare ourselves  to others or we find flaws in our own selves. I loved this quote by Marilyn Monroe, Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.' There are so many quotes about being yourself, and being happy with what you see.  What I have come to realize over the years, is that, i strive to be a good person and the person I am proud to be. All of the insecurities over the years, especially in my youth have faded, as i look at myself as someone who has overcome challenges, a person who cares about others, and someone with a strong relationship with family.

Hello Friends,Let's talk about music and some fashionable rocker style today.. but first...Over the weekend we went to the Jazz Room, a smaller intimate venue in Charlotte, where we saw a pianist, Chad Lawson ,play Gershwin. Loved it! I am a lover of Jazz Standards and the tune "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" was one of Gershwin's tunes the jazz band played at our wedding....it was supposed to be funny. I am sure by now you know that I graduated at Duquesne University's School of Music with a B.A in Guitar Performance, and Music Education. I went for further education a few years later to receive my M. Ed. My main interest began when I was 10, playing guitar. I still remember the first tune I learned-"Dust in the Wind".from .Kansas. I would later get books by John Denver and enjoyed playing folk and rock tunes. In high school and later, my inner rocker was released.... now, years later, I feel that with this outfit I am wearing...A long floral velvet kimono/duster, black jeans, and block heeled black booties, kind of gives off a "Stevie Nicks Vibe".

Hello Ladies,How was everyone's weekend?  It has been bitter cold here in Charlotte, NC and Jess doesn't do cold too well. However, being that I seem warm all of the time now ( midlife menopause) I told my hubby, where is the cold weather? So, I experienced the very cold in Harleysville, PA ( under 20 degrees) and i will take the "Southern Cold" instead! So, what is one to do besides cozy up near the fireplace and snuggle with the puppies? Wear layers! Today I am sharing a layered look in one of my favorite plaid Anthropologie blazers, jeans and OTK boots. I plan on writing a post on the importance of a investing in a good blazer, but today, I am talking about Over the knee boots.

Happy Friday ladies!I thought I would bring up an interesting topic, as we know that media and television can influence Fashion. If you watch, Netflix's The Crown, about the life of Queen Elizabeth II, in reign in the United Kingdom , you might be interested in how this 25 year old handled the responsibility of being Queen. The first season covers her marriage to Phillip, Duke of Edinburg, in 1947 to the failing relationship of her sister Margaret and Peter Townsend, in 1955.British Royalty has been a fascination for the American public, now evident with the Harry/Meghan Markle relationship. I am now watching Season II of the Crown, as the first shared the struggles the Queen endured as a young woman and reigning Queen. In addition to the relationships on the Crown, Fashion plays quite a role.

Happy Tuesday friends! It is finally getting a bit warmer here in NC. with balmy temperatures in the 50s! I am basically a cold weather "wimp', even though I grew up in Pittsburgh. I also used to teach "LifeSports" at a private school here, and just dreaded the winter, as the school didn't have a gym... the outdoors were the gym, and I would dread having to teach flag football to 40 kids in the cold. If you are starting to get in that "Spring frame of mind" check out yesterday's post, as I styled a tunic/lace dress from Joseph Ribkoff.  Today, howecer, I  am bundled up  with my Chicos finge leopard wrap, a surprise gift they sent to me before Christmas.
