img_9834Hello friends!Hope you had a great weekend. It was a busy one, as I voted early, went to the Opthamologist and got a new script for my glasses,  and enjoyed Verde, a Mexican restaurant that is only 10 minutes from us.  We still are loving the "taste of New Mexico" so I tried the least spiciest dish on the menu, and had a very good Agave Nectar Margarita!  Sunday we went and saw " Dr Strange" with one of my favorite's Benedict Cumberbatch! woo-wee! It was great!Today I am wearing one of my favorite colors for fall ( perhaps I say this a lot) olive green. I decided to take this sweater dress( again, an easy dress to wear in the fall) and layer it with this menswear brown plaid vest. I have shared some looks with this vest or similar, over the year in the spring ( worn with jeans), last fall ( with a mini skirt and menswear booties) and now, with this look that has a bit of feminine and masculine in it.

img_9882Hello friends!I am planning on posting Part II of my trip on Thursday this week, so please do come by and check out more of my trip to Santa Fe and Taos, more pictures! ( not to mention it also being My Refined Linkup as well)Hope you enjoyed the weekend. We went to a Hallo-wine Festival Saturday, wine tasting, food trucks, music, kid's events etc. Brought the puppies and it was a good time.I  hope you enjoy Halloween tonight, if you celebrate it. Hubby, me and the pups have decided  to sit outside and pass out candy. I was joking with hubby when I told him,  " Now, we only give out candy to the kids with the homemade costumes, ok" None of that, " Draw-a-smile-on-a-white-sheet "Im a Ghost" -kind of costume!" Kidding. I do remember though, back in the day, when my mom made our costumes. I was a rabbit , a black cat, a monk ( and won first prize as a contest) yes, Mom sewed me a brown gown with hood, I had a white beard, and wore a rope belt, as I chanted Gregorian Chant while in a circle with the other kids. I also remember First Grade when mom used ribbed cardboard around my body, I had a black bodysuit, and used my Disney cap as the make-shift trash can lid stuck to my cap( beanie). Dad has spray painted trashcan on the body of my costume, and then I remember stapling or gluing paper cartons of milk, candy wrappers and more to my "can". It was a pretty cool costume now that I remember it.

img_9812img_9813Hello  friends,  As promised, I will be sharing more of my Taos and Santa Fe, NM vacation in Part II next week. Today, I am sharing my collaboration with fabulous NY designer, Lynn Ritchie. When I was contacted, I was quite excited, as I loved the chic and edgy cut out top I had seen on Dawn.  I loved the style and wanted to choose something a bit outside my comfort zone. The black and grey plaid poncho stood out to me right away. I have a couple of ponchos and find them to be not only stylish, but comfortable.

img_9193( The view outside our room) This was just one small area of the expansive grounds at the hotel.Hello Friends! Wow. We had an amazing trip! I have come back feeling motivated and refreshed. I went with my hubby, younger brother Matt, and his wife, Shannon. When we choose the hotel, The El Monte Segrado, in Taos, months ago, I knew we were in for a special stay. We were celebrating both our 15th Anniversary and their 3rd Anniversary, so we were due for some pampering, and it exceed our expectations! I knew I had to break down these blog posts into several posts as we had done so much in a matter of 5 days. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to do as well as I did as we walked a lot, and did quite a bit.

img_9789img_9802Hello Friends,I know you are interested in hearing about my trip to Taos, NM and SantaFe. It was amazing!  Let me put it on hold for a day, as I want to bring you my outfit featuring my gray suede blazer from Chadwicks of Boston. Fall is my favorite month for styling and wearing clothes. Can I get an " Amen!" I love the rich textures, colors, styles and trends that make up my fall wardrobe and I am always looking for classic pieces to add to it for some extra style. When I was asked to choose something from their Fall line, I went directly toward the leather and suede items as they always appear chic to me and are very in style.
